Marathon Scout lets an assistant search 2,000+ marathons, half marathons and ultras worldwide and look up dates, entry status, results and tracking links.
What you can do
Search races by name, city, region, country, distance, date window or Boston-qualifier status, with up to 10 results (20 with an API key)
Retrieve one race by slug: all stored dates, next edition registration state and check time, Boston-qualifier status
Get stable go-links for registration, official results by year and live tracking, plus the destination each link leads to
When to use it
Useful when a runner asks for races matching a place, distance or date window, or wants to know whether a specific race is open for entry and where to register or find results.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at marathonscout.com over streamable HTTP; no local install, account or key is required. An API key raises the search result limit from 10 to 20.
Before you install
Registration status is only confirmed when marked open, limited or waitlist; unknown means unconfirmed, not closed. Some races have no announced next date, so the last edition's date should not be presented as upcoming. Data should be credited to Marathon Scout with the race guide link.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.marathonscout%2Fraces/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Find races for a runner: marathons, half marathons and ultras worldwide by name, city, region, country, distance, date window or Boston-qualifier status ("a flat spring marathon in Ohio", "halves near Denver in October"). Returns up to 10 races (20 with an API key) with the next race date, registration status and Marathon Scout guide URL. With no text query, results are in date order.
One race by its Marathon Scout slug (from search_races): every stored date, the next edition's registration state and when it was checked, Boston-qualifier status, and links for registration, official results by year and live tracking (once confirmed). Links are stable marathonscout.com/go URLs that open the current official page; official_url fields name the destination.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
