Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server giving assistants independent test scores and rankings for open-weight LLMs, including VRAM and Mac memory fit.

What you can do
  • Find and rank open-weight models by test score, filtered by GPU VRAM or Mac memory
  • Look up one model's scores, rank, memory needs per quantization and smallest hardware it fits
  • Compare two to six models side by side on scores, rank and memory
  • Check decision models for classification, routing, triage and yes/no tasks, including calibration
  • Search Model Tested articles and ranking pages by keyword, newest first
When to use it
Useful when a user asks which local or open-weight model to run, whether a model fits their graphics card or Mac, how models compare, or which model suits classification and routing work.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access to the provider's endpoint is needed.
Before you install
Scores and rankings are the provider's own test results, so treat them as one vendor's opinion rather than neutral benchmarks. Queries go to a third-party service; avoid sending sensitive details in search keywords.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Model Tested in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.modeltested%2Fllm-benchmarks/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

find_models

Find the best models for a task or computer

Use this whenever the user asks which local or open-weight LLM is best, overall or for coding, documents or decisions, or which model they can run on their graphics card (VRAM) or Mac. Returns tested models ranked by our own test scores, best first; with a GPU or Mac memory size it only returns models that fit, plus the quantization to download and the memory it needs. Examples: 'best model for a 16 GB GPU', 'best coding model on a 32 GB Mac', 'best small model under 10B'.

get_model

Get one model's results

Use this whenever the user asks about a specific open-weight model: how good it is, its benchmark scores, whether it's worth using, how much VRAM or memory it needs, or which quantization to download. Returns our test scores, rank, memory at each quantization, the smallest GPU and Mac it fits, decision accuracy and our Q4 run on a Mac when there is one. Accepts a name or slug, e.g. 'qwen3.5 9b' or 'gpt-oss-20b'.

compare_models

Compare models side by side

Use this whenever the user asks how two or more open-weight models compare, or which of them to pick. Returns our test scores, rank and memory needs for 2 to 6 models side by side.

decision_models

Decision model rankings

Use this whenever the user asks about decision models or LLMs for classification, routing, triage or yes/no calls. Accuracy on our decision test (routing tickets, applying rules, spotting phishing, flagging risky code changes), how well each model's confidence matches its accuracy (calibration), and API cost per 1,000 calls. Covers dedicated decision models and regular LLMs given the same tasks.

Parameterstypelimit

search_articles

Search Model Tested articles

Find Model Tested articles and ranking pages by keyword, newest first: news about newly tested models, guides on quantization, Ollama and memory. Returns title, summary, date and link.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
