Overview

AI-generated overview

Nomads.com MCP lets an assistant search cities for remote work, read city and country data, and manage a member's trips, favorites and meetups.

What you can do
  • Search and read places: search cities by budget, region, country, internet speed, safety or temperature, and get curated details for a city or country, including top cities and thumbnail videos.
  • Manage favorites: list, add and remove a member's hearted cities and countries.
  • Manage trips: list trip history with date filters, add, edit and remove stays.
  • Manage meetups: list upcoming meetups by city, country or time window, and create, edit or cancel meetups the member hosts.
When to use it
Useful when someone is choosing where to live or work remotely and wants cost, internet, safety and weather comparisons, or wants their Nomads.com trips, favorites and meetups handled from a chat. City search works without an account; member tools need one.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at nomads.com over streamable HTTP; nothing to install locally. City search needs no credentials. Member tools need authentication: OAuth sign-in through the connector, or an Authorization header with a Bearer token made of the username and a personal key from the account settings.
Before you install
Member tools act on a real account: creating, editing and cancelling meetups posts to the community chat and notifies RSVP'd members, and a cancellation cannot be undone. Favorites and trips are written and deleted directly. The Authorization header carries a personal key, so treat it as a secret. Results are capped and rate limited, not a bulk data source.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Nomads.com in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.nomads%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Parameterscitylimitcountrydays_ahead

create_meetup

Host a meetup

Host a Nomads.com meetup as the member: it is posted in the community chat, members in that city then get notified, and at 2 RSVPs it is also shared in the country channel and on X. Authenticated as the member (signed in through the connector with OAuth or an Authorization header, or username + personal key from https://nomads.com/settings). The member needs a profile photo and Telegram connected. Ask the member to confirm the details before calling this, it is posted publicly.

edit_meetup

Edit my meetup

Change a Nomads.com meetup the member organized: date, time, type, title, description, venue or address. Fields left out keep their current value. The change is posted in the community chat. Once 2+ people RSVP'd, the date and time can no longer change. Call without meetup_id to get the member's upcoming meetups with their ids. Authenticated as the member, like create_meetup. Ask the member to confirm the change first.

Parameterskeydatetimetitlevenueaddresscategoryusernamemeetup_iddescription

cancel_meetup

Call without meetup_id to get the member's upcoming meetups with their ids. Authenticated as the member, like create_meetup. Ask the member to confirm first.

Parameterskeyusernamemeetup_id

Get my favorites

Get a Nomads.com member's own favorite cities and countries (the places they hearted: places they want to go or come back to). Authenticated as the member: signed in through the connector (OAuth sign-in or an Authorization header) if set up, otherwise pass the member's username and their personal key from https://nomads.com/settings - this is private data, not for looking up other people.

Parameterskeylimitto_dateusernamefrom_date

add_trip

Add a trip

Add a trip to a Nomads.com member's own history: a stay in one place with a start and end date. Authenticated as the member: signed in through the connector (OAuth sign-in or an Authorization header) if set up, otherwise pass the member's username and their personal key from https://nomads.com/settings, plus the place, given EITHER as city_slug (from search_cities/get_city) OR as latitude+longitude (e.g. from a places/geocoding lookup). Coordinates within 5km of a Nomads.com city snap to it, same as the profile page's "add a trip" autocomplete; ANY other place also works - pass its city and country names with the coordinates and it is stored as-is, like the site's own trip editor.

remove_trip

Remove a trip

Remove one trip from a Nomads.com member's own history, e.g. a duplicate or a superseded entry. Authenticated as the member (signed in through the connector with OAuth or an Authorization header, or username + personal key from https://nomads.com/settings). Parameterskeytrip_idrequiredusername

edit_trip

Edit a trip

Change the dates and/or the place of one trip in a Nomads.com member's own history, e.g. a stay that got longer or a wrong city. Authenticated as the member (signed in through the connector with OAuth or an Authorization header, or username + personal key from https://nomads.com/settings). Needs the trip_id (from get_trips); pass only what changes, everything else keeps its value. The trip keeps its trip_id, likes and comments. A new place works like add_trip: city_slug, OR latitude+longitude (snaps to a Nomads.com city within 5km, otherwise pass city and country names).
