Validate and generate German e-invoices (XRechnung, ZUGFeRD) against the official KoSIT rules.
Overview
AI-generated overview
Lets an assistant validate and generate German e-invoices (XRechnung, ZUGFeRD) against the official KoSIT rules.
- What it does
- NormAPI is a remote MCP endpoint (also available as an npm package over stdio) for German electronic invoicing. It validates XRechnung and ZUGFeRD invoices against the official KoSIT rules and can generate invoices. Validation is described as needing no credentials; invoice generation requires an API key.
- When to use it
- Use it when an assistant has to check whether a German e-invoice file conforms to KoSIT rules, or to produce XRechnung or ZUGFeRD invoices as part of an invoicing workflow.
- Requirements
- A remote endpoint at normapi.com, or the npm package @normapi/mcp run locally over stdio (Node.js). Validation needs no credentials. Generating invoices needs a NormAPI API key, supplied as the NORMAPI_API_KEY environment variable or as an Authorization bearer header; keys are free from a NormAPI account.
Before you install
The API key (NORMAPI_API_KEY, or the Authorization bearer header) is a secret and is only needed for invoice generation, so avoid sending it when only validating. Invoice generation creates documents, and the service is a third party that receives the invoice data you submit.
