Requirements
Runs as a local npm package over stdio on desktop. Requires a paid Val subscription and a license key supplied in the VAL_LICENSE_KEY environment variable. Scans need a reachable preview URL; posting PR comments needs a GitHub token with pull-requests write permission.
Before you install
Val is a paid product at 4.99 USD per month and needs a license key, which is a secret and should be stored as a repository secret rather than shared. Scans send your preview URL and page content to Val's service. The GitHub Action posts comments to pull requests, so it needs write permission on them.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Val in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Val QA scan — GitHub Action

Run Val, the QA agent for vibecoded apps, on every PR. Val drives a real browser against your preview URL, catches broken links, dead buttons, busted layouts, accessibility violations, and posts a report as a PR comment.

Requires a Val subscription

Val is a paid product. Get a license key at val.nyx-intelligence.com, store it as a repository secret (e.g. VAL_LICENSE_KEY), and pass it to the action.
