Hotels ranked by real comfort, not commission: efficient AC, comfy beds, soundproof rooms and more

VerifiedStreamable HTTPWeb executableLocation & LifestyleData & Analytics

Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted, read-only hotel search that ranks stays by an evidence-based Comfort Score, letting an assistant find, compare and plan hotels.

What you can do
  • Search hotels, apartments or hostels in a destination by comfort signals, travel style, price, neighbourhood or distance, or look one up by name
  • Read one hotel's Comfort Score breakdown, must-haves, strengths and complaints, price and city tax
  • Compare two to four hotels with a verdict on best comfort, cheapest and best value, and find similar hotels, optionally cheaper
  • Survey destinations: cities covered with hotel counts, city overviews with neighbourhoods and when to go, and the list of filters and travel styles
  • Plan a multi-stop trip with the best match and alternatives per stop, stay dates and an indicative total
When to use it
Useful when a user is choosing where to stay, wants hotels that are quiet, clean or good for sleep and work, is weighing a few specific properties, or is planning a trip with several stops and dates.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; nothing to install and no account or API key. Works in clients that support remote MCP servers, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Cline. Network access to the provider's endpoint is required.
Before you install
All eight tools are read-only, but each tool call and prompt is logged for 30 days (tool, search parameters, client name, hashed caller id) for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Fair-use limits apply: 60 requests a minute and 2,000 a day per caller. Prices are indicative sample rates, not live quotes, and the provider earns commission on bookings made through its website.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open OKstays in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.okstays%2Fokstays/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

OKstays MCP server

[MCP health] [mcptry] [M8ven Score]

Find hotels you'll actually sleep well in. OKstays scores 30,000+ hotels in 80+ destinations on 67 comfort signals from what guests report (efficient AC, comfy beds, real soundproofing, quiet nights, spacious rooms, recent renovations, safe and walkable neighbourhoods and more). The Comfort Score, from 0 to 10, combines the 51 that make a stay comfortable: Comfort & Essentials 60% (five must-haves, clean, comfy beds, good shower, bug-free and safe area, 30%, and sleep and room 30%), Perks & Facilities 15%, Service & Hospitality 15% and Location & Access 10%. A high score from few reviews leans toward the destination's typical score until more guests review the place. A hotel whose guests keep reporting problems with cleanliness, beds, showers or bugs is never ranked, hotels, apartments and hostels are ranked apart, and hotels can't pay to be ranked.

This is a hosted, read-only MCP server. There is nothing to install and no account or API key.

Tools

All eight tools only read data. Inputs, outputs and access level for each: TOOLS.md.

ToolWhat it does
get_city_overviewA destination at a glance: hotels scored, average Comfort Score, median price, what its hotels do best and worst, the best neighbourhoods, the travel styles it suits, the city tax and when to go
search_hotelsUp to 10 hotels (or apartments or hostels) per page in a city ranked by Comfort Score, optionally for a travel style (deep sleep, digital nomad, family, romantic, business, solo, luxury, budget, avoid the crowds), required qualities, price, neighbourhood or distance from a landmark; or a hotel looked up by name
get_hotelOne hotel: score breakdown, what the scores are based on, the must-haves, strengths and complaints with their explanations (every signal on request), price, link
compare_hotelsTwo to four hotels side by side, with a verdict: best comfort, cheapest, best value
find_similar_hotelsHotels in the same city that score most like a given one, optionally cheaper
list_citiesThe destinations covered, with hotel counts, optionally for one country
get_filtersEvery comfort filter and travel style usable in search_hotels
plan_tripHotels for a multi-stop trip (e.g. Lisbon 4 nights, Porto 3, Madrid 5): the best match and alternatives for each stop, the stay dates and an indicative total, with links that open each hotel's page with those dates

Give your assistant your dates and the number of guests, and every hotel link it shows opens on that stay: Book Now on the hotel's page then books those nights. Clients that show MCP prompts (Claude, Claude Desktop, VS Code) also get four ready-made ones: Find a comfortable hotel, Plan a multi-stop trip, Compare hotels, Choose where to stay.

Example prompts

  • Which neighbourhoods in Lisbon have the most comfortable hotels?
  • Find a quiet hotel in Porto under $200 a night
  • Hotels in Bangkok with efficient AC and soundproof rooms
  • Compare the top two and tell me which is better value
  • Find something like the first one, but cheaper
  • Plan hotels for Lisbon 4 nights, Porto 3 and Madrid 5 from 10 May
  • Is the Pestana Palace in Lisbon quiet? We're there 12 to 15 March, two of us

Data, privacy and limits

  • Results link to each hotel's page on okstays.com, with photos, a map and prices. Prices are indicative rates for two adults on a sample date. OKstays earns a commission when people book through the booking links on its website; this never affects the rankings, and tool results contain no affiliate links.
  • Fair use: 60 requests a minute and 2,000 a day per caller. Each tool call and prompt is logged (tool or prompt, search parameters, client name, a hashed caller id) for 30 days for limits and abuse prevention: https://okstays.com/privacy
  • Terms: https://okstays.com/terms

search_hotels

Search hotels

Use this when the user wants hotels in a destination (e.g. 'quiet hotels in Bangkok under $150'), or asks about a hotel by name (hotel_name). Returns up to 10 hotels per page, ranked by the OKstays Comfort Score (0-10 from what guests report: Comfort & Essentials 60%, the five must-haves (cleanliness, beds, shower, bugs and safety) 30% and sleep and room 30%; Perks & Facilities 15%; Service & Hospitality 15%; Location & Access 10%; repeated complaints about cleanliness, beds, showers or bugs keep a hotel out; feeling unsafe in the area shows as a complaint; a high score from few reviews leans toward the destination's typical score until more guests review the place) or by a travel style's score (half the Comfort Score, half how well it fits the style), highest first (ties go to the hotel more guests reviewed), each with strengths, complaints, indicative price and its okstays.com link. Filters: travel style, signals the hotel must score 8+ on, price, minimum score, neighbourhood, distance from a point, and the kind of stay: property_type hotels (default), apartments, hostels or any (the long-stays persona defaults to any). Pass the user's dates and guests when known. Places to stay only, not flights or car hire. Read-only, no sign-in.

get_hotel

Hotel details

Use this when the user asks about one hotel: why it scores as it does, or whether it's quiet, clean or good for sleep or work. Returns the Comfort Score breakdown, what the scores rest on, the five must-haves, its strengths and complaints with the reason behind each score, price, the city tax where we know it and its okstays.com link. Pass focus with what the user asked about; detail='full' adds every scored signal (about four times longer). Read-only, no sign-in.

Parametersfocusadultsdetailcheckincheckouthotel_idrequired

list_cities

Covered destinations

Use this when the user asks which destinations OKstays covers, or before planning a trip through a country. Returns every destination we score with its country, slug and number of hotels; pass country to list one country only. Read-only, no sign-in.

Parameterscountry

get_filters

Filters and travel styles

Use this to look up the comfort signals and travel styles that search_hotels accepts, when the user's wish doesn't map clearly to one. Returns every filter (id, name, description, category, whether it's a must-have) and every travel style. Plain names also work in search_hotels tags ('quiet', 'wifi'). Read-only, no sign-in.

Takes no parameters.

compare_hotels

Compare hotels

Use this when the user is choosing between 2-4 specific hotels. Returns each hotel's Comfort Score breakdown, price, strengths and complaints, the signals where they differ most, and a verdict: best comfort, cheapest, best value. Hotel ids come from search_hotels (hotel_name finds a hotel the user names). Read-only, no sign-in.

Parametersadultscheckincheckouthotel_idsrequired

find_similar_hotels

Find similar hotels

Use this when the user likes a hotel but wants alternatives, e.g. 'like this one but cheaper' (cheaper_only). Returns hotels in the same destination with the closest comfort profile, none with repeated complaints about cleanliness, beds, showers, bugs or safety, with the price difference. Read-only, no sign-in.

Parameterslimitadultscheckincheckouthotel_idrequiredmax_pricecheaper_only

get_city_overview

Destination overview

Use this when the user is still choosing a destination or an area to stay in. Returns how many hotels we score, the average Comfort Score, median price, where its hotels beat and trail the average hotel, the best neighbourhoods with their top hotel, which travel styles it suits, the city tax at a 4-star hotel, when to go (pleasant, cool-night and quiet months, typical weather by month) and, where we have a guide, where to stay: the area for a first visit, quiet nights, nightlife, families and value, with each area's price, comfort, street noise and bars. A request for hotels (e.g. 'quiet hotels in Bangkok') is search_hotels' job. Read-only, no sign-in.

Parametersadultscheckincheckoutlocationrequired

plan_trip

Plan a multi-stop trip

Use this when the user plans a trip with several stops. Returns hotels for each stay in travel order (e.g. Lisbon 4 nights, Porto 3, Madrid 5): the best match for each stop by the OKstays Comfort Score (or the travel style's score), alternatives, the stay dates and an indicative total. Each hotel link opens its OKstays page with the stop's dates, so its Book Now button books those nights. Agree the stops and nights with the user first; list_cities shows which destinations of a country we cover. Read-only, no sign-in.
