Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote or local MCP server that gives an assistant sourced facts, explained scores and change alerts for GB neighbourhoods via the OneGoodArea API.

What you can do
  • Look up sourced facts about neighbourhoods across Great Britain.
  • Retrieve scores together with explanations of how they were derived.
  • Check change alerts for areas of interest.
  • Access all of this through one API, either as a remote endpoint or a local npx process.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to answer questions about British neighbourhoods, compare areas, or explain area scores and recent changes with sourced data.
Requirements
A OneGoodArea API key starting with oga_, obtained from the provider's API usage page, supplied as the OOGA_API_KEY environment variable or as an Authorization bearer header. OAuth authentication is declared as required. The OOGA_API_BASE variable sets the API base URL. Runs as a remote endpoint or locally via npx with Node.js.
Before you install
The API key is a secret; keep OOGA_API_KEY and the Authorization header value out of logs and shared configuration. Access is tied to a OneGoodArea account and may be subject to usage limits or billing on the provider's side. Queries are sent to the provider's API.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.onegoodarea%2Foga-mcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
