Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant start a printed, AI-illustrated postcard draft and hand off a link for review, payment and first-class mailing.

What you can do
  • Start a postcard draft from a photo, either a public HTTPS image URL, raw base64 file bytes, or the host's file input, with an optional illustrated version.
  • Add a note and recipient address fields, or leave them to be filled in on the website.
  • Display the finish button for an existing unpaid draft link so the user can complete and pay for the order.
  • Mailing is offered from the US to 194 countries, with the destination given as an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code.
When to use it
Useful when someone wants to send a physical postcard from a chat, for example a photo turned into a printed card with an illustrated variant, and is happy to finish the note, address and payment on the Paper Plane Post website.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no account, API key or authentication header is required. A photo source is needed for a draft: a public HTTPS photo URL, base64 file bytes, or the host's supported file input. The user needs a browser to open the returned draft link and pay on the website.
Before you install
The postcard costs $7 with postage included, paid on the Paper Plane Post website rather than through the tools; tool calls themselves do not charge or mail anything. Photos and address details are sent to a third-party service. Draft links expire after seven days, and order lookup is not available through the server. Use real file bytes, not base64 invented from an image.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Paper Plane Post in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.paperplanepost%2Foffice/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Paper Plane Post for agents

Create and send an AI-illustrated postcard anywhere in the world.

Start an unpaid draft from your assistant, then open the returned link to review the photo, finish the note and address, and pay for printing and mailing on Paper Plane Post.

Connect

Add this remote MCP server with Streamable HTTP:

text
https://api.paperplanepost.com/v1/mcp

No account, API key, or authentication header is required. The root plugin.json and mcp.json form a portable Agent Plugin that Cursor Directory can discover from this repository URL. The MCP configuration is:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "paper-plane-post": {      "type": "streamable-http",      "url": "https://api.paperplanepost.com/v1/mcp"    }  }}

start_postcard accepts one photo source: a public HTTPS photo_url, actual file bytes encoded as photo_base64, or the host's supported file input. Include a note and any known recipient fields, or leave them for the website. show_postcard displays the handoff for an existing draft URL without creating another draft. Tool calls never charge money or mail a postcard. Draft links expire after seven days.

Use actual file bytes, never base64 invented from an image. Missing note or address fields don't block a draft. The website handles review, payment, and mailing; order lookup is unavailable through this server.

Packages

  • ChatGPT and Codex: plugin manifest, MCP configuration, icon, and packaging helper.
  • Claude: plugin manifest, MCP configuration, postcard skill, file-upload helper, and packaging helper.
  • server.json: official MCP Registry metadata for com.paperplanepost/office.

These are distribution sources. A package archive or registry listing does not imply approval in an AI app's directory. Build with Bun and the system zip command. From this repository's root:

Archives are written under dist/ in the working directory. The builders use explicit file allowlists; environment files and review evidence aren't packaged.

start_postcard

Postcard Maker

Start a Paper Plane Post postcard: a photo printed on a 4×6 card, with an optional illustrated version of it, mailed first class for $7 with postage included. Mails from the US to 194 countries; the address country is an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code. Use photo for an uploaded or ChatGPT-generated image. Other clients can send photo_base64 encoded from the file itself, or photo_url if the image is already online. If no image is available, ask for an uploaded photo or public image URL. Do not call this tool or invent image data. Set is_ai_generated to true for an image you generated or know was AI-generated; its illustration is made only if the person selects Illustrated on the website. Include the note and recipient address if the person has supplied them. If either is missing, start the postcard immediately without asking for it; the person can complete it on the website. Returns a link for the person to open: they see their photo on the card, finish the note and address, can choose the illustrated version, and pay on the website. Nothing is charged or mailed until they do. Never ask for payment details. The link expires after about a week. This tool only starts postcards. It cannot retrieve orders or delivery status; explain that limitation for lookup requests instead of calling it. On a busy day the tool may first answer with a short challenge of four questions to solve and send back in the challenge argument; the proof-of-work question needs a code tool.

show_postcard

Postcard Maker

Display the Finish your postcard button for an existing unpaid draft URL returned by start_postcard, including after the Claude skill's file-transfer helper. Does not create a draft, read its contents, charge, or mail anything. Only use the exact returned URL; never invent one. This cannot look up orders or delivery status.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
