Overview

AI-generated overview

PlainQuant lets an assistant look up how US stocks moved after past market events and check trend and business scores for US and Hong Kong stocks.

What you can do
  • List the market events PlainQuant has history for, with ids, English and Chinese names, and aliases
  • Study an event's past occurrences: equal-weighted US market moves at 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 3 months, with median, share up, worst and best for the same window
  • Score up to 20 US or Hong Kong stocks on trend and business, with industry ranks, whether each is stretched above its average, and whether the scores predicted later returns
When to use it
Useful when you want historical context for how the US market behaved after events like Fed decisions, CPI releases, jobs reports or elections, or a quick quantitative read on a list of US or HK tickers.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at plainquant.com; no packages, environment variables or headers declared, and no authentication declared.
Before you install
Figures are past results, not forecasts or investment advice, and the server asks that they be quoted with its page URL. Scores and event studies are the provider's own data and should not be treated as recommendations.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open PlainQuant in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.plainquant%2Fplainquant/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

List market events

The events PlainQuant has history for (Fed decisions, CPI, jobs reports, US elections, quarterly options expiry, market drops), with ids, names in English and Chinese, and aliases.

Takes no parameters.

event_study

What the market did after an event

For each past occurrence of the event, the move of the equal-weighted US stock market 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 3 months later (fractions: 0.037 = +3.7%), plus median, share up, worst and best beside any window of the same length. With too few occurrences only the list is given. Give symbol (a ticker or company name of the event's market) to measure that one stock's own price, dividends included, instead of the market. Use for questions like 'what happens to stocks after a midterm election / an FOMC meeting' or 'what did AAPL do after CPI'.
