Overview

AI-generated overview

Podgist gives an assistant a searchable library of podcast transcripts to search, ask cited questions of, and order new transcriptions for.

What you can do
  • Search and browse the catalogue: find podcasts by name, list episodes, read podcast details, topics and news
  • Search transcripts full-text and pull one episode's transcript with speaker turns and timestamps
  • Ask questions answered from podcast speech, then poll the job for the cited answer
  • Check prices and buy: quote episodes, feeds, credit packs or subscriptions, place orders, and review orders and usage
  • Manage the account: follows, summary-email settings, ask history, sharing, billing links and key revocation
When to use it
Useful when you want answers or quotes grounded in what was said on podcasts, with citations to episode and minute, or when you need to search a large transcript library and pay to transcribe specific episodes.
Requirements
Remote endpoint at api.podgist.com over streamable HTTP. Free tools need no key; billed and account tools need a Podgist API key sent as an Authorization Bearer header, with scopes such as order, account and billing. Network access required.
Before you install
Billed tools spend the account's prepaid API balance: search_transcripts, ask_question, get_transcript and later episode pages cost per call, and order charges the quoted price (capped at $50 per order and $200 a day). Account tools change follows, email settings, ask history, subscriptions and can revoke the calling key. Transcript text is for reading and citing, not bulk export, republication or model training.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Podgist in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.podgist%2Fpodgist/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
