When to use it
Useful when someone is looking for a local business in or around Point Pleasant, New Jersey and wants an assistant to find options, compare hours and prices, and complete a booking or enquiry in the conversation.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access to the provider's endpoint is needed.
Before you install
Booking and messaging send real requests to businesses: the person's name, email and phone number are passed on, and bookings reach the business's calendar. The server asks that details be confirmed with the person and calls made with confirmed=true, and that nothing be sent without confirmation. Only businesses flagged can_book or can_contact accept actions; others should be reached by phone.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.pointpleasantlocal%2Fdirectory/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Search Point Pleasant Local (724 listings). All filters optional. place = town, city, neighbourhood or state as written ('Point Pleasant Beach', 'Austin, TX'). category = a name from list_categories. near_lat/near_lng sort by distance within radius_km.

check_availability
Check open times
Open times for a business that has can_book, read live from its calendar. start_date (YYYY-MM-DD) and days (1-30) narrow the range. Times are ISO 8601 in the business's time zone; pass one back unchanged to book_appointment.
Parametersdaysstart_datebusiness_idrequired
contact_business
Message a business
Send a question, quote request or callback request to a business that has can_contact (kinds it takes are in get_business). The business gets the message and the person's name, email and phone (phone required for callbacks) and replies to them directly. Confirm the message and details with the person first, then call with confirmed=true.
Book a time from check_availability for the person you are helping. First confirm the business, the time, their name, email and mobile number with them, then call with confirmed=true. The business receives the booking on its calendar and the person's contact details for this booking only.
How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
