Supply-chain moves, tariffs, wages, rules and local market for a small business's AI, with sources.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted MCP server that gives an assistant sourced context on a small business's input costs, tariffs, rules and local demand.

What you can do
  • Check the connected business, its industry and whether figures are ready, and get a brief on upstream movement, tariff alerts, nearby events and rule dates
  • List what changed since an earlier version or check, and recall recalls, weather alerts, disaster declarations and trade actions affecting the business
  • Search inputs, indexes, tariffs, wages, locations, rules and events by keyword, and fetch everything held on one item
  • Read a published index series with its latest figure, twelve-month move and how unusual it is
  • Trace connected records such as purchases, upstream inputs, wages, rules and locations
  • Retrieve the source receipt behind a figure, including publisher link and how to verify it
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to answer plain-language questions about a specific small business's costs, import tariffs, compliance deadlines or local demand, and to cite official records rather than guess.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at pointrover.com/mcp; no local install. Requires a PointRover account with at least one business added and its board built (first build takes about an hour); a 14-day trial is available. Authentication is OAuth 2.1 (authorization code with PKCE, dynamic client registration), and each connection reads one business chosen at sign-in.
Before you install
Sign-in grants the connector read access to the businesses in your PointRover workspace; it is described as read-only and does not touch assistant memory, chat history or files. Business details are sent to the hosted PointRover service, and a paid account may be needed after the trial.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open PointRover in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.pointrover%2Fpointrover/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

PointRover MCP Server

PointRover is a hosted, remote MCP server that gives an AI assistant grounded context about a small business: its industry, what it buys and how those inputs are moving upstream, tariffs on its imports, the rules it has to follow, and demand in its area. Every figure links back to the official record it came from, so the assistant can cite it instead of guessing.

All tools are read-only. The connector reads only the businesses in your PointRover workspace. It writes nothing and does not access your assistant's memory, chat history, or files.

This repository holds documentation only. PointRover is a hosted service; there is no server code to install or run.

Connecting

Server URLhttps://pointrover.com/mcp
TransportStreamable HTTP
AuthOAuth 2.1 (authorization code + PKCE, dynamic client registration)

You need a PointRover account at pointrover.com with at least one business added and its board built (the first build takes about an hour). A 14-day trial is available. Each connection reads one business, chosen when you sign in.

VS Code / GitHub Copilot

Add to .vscode/mcp.json (or your user MCP settings):

json
{  "servers": {    "pointrover": {      "type": "http",      "url": "https://pointrover.com/mcp"    }  }}

Start the server from the MCP view; VS Code opens the PointRover sign-in in your browser.

Claude

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, enter https://pointrover.com/mcp, sign in, and choose the business. PointRover is also listed in the Claude Connectors Directory.

Other clients

Most clients accept the same entry under mcpServers:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "pointrover": {      "type": "http",      "url": "https://pointrover.com/mcp"    }  }}

File names and keys vary by client.

Using it

Once connected, ask your assistant about the business in plain words. For example:

  • "What's moving in our costs this month, and why?"
  • "Are any tariffs about to hit what we import?"
  • "What rule deadlines are coming up for us?"
  • "Show me the source for that price figure."

A good first call is pointrover_brief; the assistant can then search, fetch, or walk pointrover_graph for detail and use pointrover_receipt to cite where a number came from.
