Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Postemi MCP server that lets an assistant write, preview and schedule social media posts across 37 platforms and apps.

What you can do
  • Write and preview social media posts for 37 platforms and apps, from Instagram to Bluesky.
  • Schedule posts to a Postemi calendar and manage the connected channels and their ids.
  • Upload media and attach it to posts, using the eight accepted file types.
  • Work with the same account data as the Postemi web app, so scheduled items appear in both places.
  • Draw on optional writing and growth skills for ideas, hooks, formatting and posting cadence.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to draft and queue social media content on a schedule across many networks without leaving the chat, and you already use or are willing to pay for Postemi.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint at mcp.postemi.com, reached over streamable HTTP; OAuth sign-in is required. A Postemi account on the Pro plan or higher (Pro, Creator or Team) is needed, since Basic has no API access. Sign-in is approved in the browser, where you choose the workspace and channels the credential may reach.
Before you install
The server can create and schedule posts and upload media to your connected social accounts, so review what it queues before it publishes. Access is scoped to a workspace and channels you approve during OAuth. Content and media are sent to Postemi and then to the selected platforms. Signing up through the CLI has no free trial and leads straight to billing.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Postemi: Social Media Scheduler in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.postemi%2Fpostemi/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Postemi CLI

Social media scheduling from the command line, or from your AI agent.

Postemi (https://postemi.com) is a social media scheduler, and this is its command-line tool. It uses the same public API as the web app: what you schedule here shows up in your Postemi calendar, and what you schedule there you can see here too.

Channels: 37 platforms and apps, including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and Mastodon.

Plan: the CLI, the API and MCP need the Pro plan or higher (Pro, Creator or Team). Basic has no API access.

SKILL.md is the full command reference, written for AI agents. Show it to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, OpenClaw or Hermes and they can use the whole CLI with no further explanation.

Install

bash
npm install -g postemipostemi --help

Node.js 18 or newer.

bash
postemi auth:login # device flow: opens postemi.com/app/device in the browserpostemi auth:status # checks the credentialpostemi auth:logout # deletes the stored credential

You approve the login in the browser while signed in to Postemi, and choose there which workspace and which channels the key may reach. The CLI stores it in ~/.postemi/credentials.json (mode 0600).

No account yet? Create one from the terminal:

bash
postemi auth:signup --email [email protected] # e-mails a code, asks for it and for the termspostemi auth:signup --email [email protected] --code 123456 --accept-terms --workspace-name "Anna's Cafe"

The person must agree to https://postemi.com/terms and https://postemi.com/privacy first. An account made with postemi auth:signup has no free trial: next come postemi billing:plans and postemi billing:subscribe. Signing up at https://postemi.com/app/signup instead starts a 7-day free trial; then run postemi auth:login.

For a server, CI or an agent without a browser, use an API key from Settings, Developers in the web app:

bash
export POSTEMI_API_KEY=your_api_key
VariableDefaultPurpose
POSTEMI_API_KEYnoneAPI key, when you do not use auth:login
POSTEMI_API_URLhttps://api.postemi.comAPI base
POSTEMI_WORKSPACEnoneWorkspace id for every command (same as --workspace)
POSTEMI_TIMEZONEnoneIANA zone for dates written without an offset
POSTEMI_AUTH_SERVERhttps://api.postemi.comWhere auth:login runs the device flow
POSTEMI_CLIENT_NAMEPostemi CLIName shown on the approval page

Stored credentials from auth:login take precedence over POSTEMI_API_KEY.

Quick start

bash
postemi auth:statuspostemi integrations:list # your channels and their idspostemi config:set timezone Europe/London # once: how to read dates without an offset
IMG=$(postemi upload ./photo.jpg | jq -r '.path')postemi posts:create -c "Hello from the terminal" -m "$IMG" \  -s "2026-12-31 09:00" -i "<integration-id>"

Results are JSON on stdout; status lines and errors go to stderr, and every failure exits 1. Run postemi <command> --help for each command.

Agent skills (optional)

The CLI can install its skills into the coding agents on your machine (Claude Code ~/.claude/skills, Codex ~/.codex/skills or $CODEX_HOME/skills, Cursor ~/.cursor/skills, Grok Build ~/.grok/skills). The core postemi skill comes with any of them; the other two are optional:

bash
postemi skills list # core, writing, growth: installed wherepostemi skills add writing # ideas, hooks, formatting, templatespostemi skills add growth # niche, cadence, 30-day planpostemi skills add all --agent claude --yespostemi skills remove growth

After postemi auth:login on a terminal the CLI asks once whether you want the writing and the growth skill (default No) and remembers the answers in ~/.postemi/config.json. It never asks when an agent or a script runs it (no terminal, --json, or CI set); it prints one hint line instead, once. With several agents found it asks which; --agent and --yes skip that.
