Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only ProxyRange server that lets an assistant look up residential proxy providers' checkout prices, terms and sourcing checks, each fact dated and sourced.

What you can do
  • Find providers matching requirements such as targeting, payment method, no ID check or non-expiring traffic, with prices for 1, 10 or 100 GB
  • Rank the lowest regular prices at each traffic size, optionally filtered by requirements
  • Read one provider's full record: prices, terms, protocols, targeting, payments and sourcing check
  • Compare two to four providers side by side and see which is cheaper at each size
  • Get this month's picks per need with market medians, plus sourcing checks and shared-infrastructure findings with their evidence
When to use it
Useful when someone is choosing or comparing residential proxy providers and wants current prices, contract terms or IP-sourcing evidence rather than marketing pages. Also handy for questions about which brands share proxy gateways.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no sign-in, API key or environment variables. Network access to the endpoint, and a client that supports remote MCP servers. A fair-use limit of 300 requests per minute per address applies.
Before you install
Read-only and free, but answers are third-party assessments about real companies: sourcing checks and shared-infrastructure findings should be passed on as written, with their meaning and sources, and Unclear is not a finding of wrongdoing. Published answers require crediting ProxyRange under CC BY 4.0. The server states it does not store or log requests.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ProxyRange in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.proxyrange%2Fproxyrange/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

ProxyRange MCP server

Ask your AI assistant about residential proxies and it answers from our dated prices, terms and sourcing checks for 30 providers, linking the page each fact comes from. Free, read-only, no sign-in or API key.

Every answer comes from proxyrange.com: checkout prices for 1, 10 and 100 GB, terms, and a sourcing check for each provider, each fact with the date it was checked and its source.

Add it to your assistant

Claude: web, desktop and mobile

  1. Open Customize, then Connectors, and choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
  2. Name it ProxyRange, paste the server URL and continue.
  3. For authentication choose No sign in, then Add. In a chat, turn it on under + and Connectors.

Added once, it works in every Claude app on your account. Free accounts can add one custom connector; on Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it for everyone.

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user proxyrange https://mcp.proxyrange.com/mcp

ChatGPT

  1. On the web, open chatgpt.com/plugins and choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it ProxyRange, paste the server URL and choose No authentication.
  3. Confirm the warning, choose Create as a plugin and install it. In a chat, type @ProxyRange.

OpenAI lists custom MCP servers for Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, where an admin adds them, and for Pro accounts.

Cursor

[Add to Cursor]

Or add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json in one project:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "proxyrange": {      "url": "https://mcp.proxyrange.com/mcp"    }  }}

VS Code with GitHub Copilot

From a terminal:

bash
code --add-mcp '{"name":"proxyrange","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.proxyrange.com/mcp"}'

On Copilot Business and Enterprise, an admin first turns on the MCP servers policy.

Windsurf (Devin Desktop)

Add it to mcp_config.json: ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json on macOS and Linux, %APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json on Windows.

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "proxyrange": {      "url": "https://mcp.proxyrange.com/mcp"    }  }}

Gemini CLI

bash
gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user proxyrange https://mcp.proxyrange.com/mcp

Zed

In Settings, AI, MCP Servers, choose Add Remote Server, or add this to your settings file:

json
{  "context_servers": {    "proxyrange": {      "url": "https://mcp.proxyrange.com/mcp"    }  }}

Any other client

Add the server URL as a remote server over Streamable HTTP, with no authentication.

find_providers

Find residential proxy providers

Residential proxy providers that meet a buyer’s requirements (SOCKS5, city/ZIP/ASN targeting, PayPal or crypto, no ID check, traffic that never expires, a price cap, a sourcing check level, a smallest first purchase, a session length), with each one’s checkout price for 1, 10 or 100 GB. Regular prices come first, lowest first; first-purchase offers and upper bounds follow, flagged. Every result links to its proxyrange.com page and says when its prices were checked.

cheapest

Cheapest residential proxies

The lowest regular checkout prices for 1, 10 or 100 GB of residential proxy traffic, ranked the way proxyrange.com ranks them: first-purchase offers, coupons and upper bounds never count, and providers whose sourcing check is Concerning are left out. Optionally only providers meeting given requirements. Includes the market median for the basket.

ParameterslimitneedsbasketGb

get_provider

Residential proxy provider facts and review

Everything ProxyRange has on one residential proxy provider: checkout prices for 1, 10 and 100 GB, the smallest first purchase, whether unused traffic expires, ID check, trial, refunds, protocols, targeting, longest sticky session, claimed pool size, payment methods, what its terms say about independent testing, its sourcing check (Clear, Unclear or Concerning), brands it shares infrastructure with, and our review (best for, think twice if, pros, cons). Every fact carries the date it was checked and its source.

Parametersproviderrequired

compare_providers

Compare residential proxy providers

Two to four residential proxy providers side by side: checkout prices for 1, 10 and 100 GB with which one is cheaper at each (regular prices only), smallest first purchase, traffic expiry, ID check, trial, refunds, protocols, targeting, sticky sessions, payments, testing terms, sourcing checks, our best-for lines, and whether any of them share infrastructure.

Parametersprovidersrequired

monthly_picks

This month’s residential proxy picks

ProxyRange’s picks for this month, one per need (lowest price, smallest first purchase, no ID to start, traffic never expires, city targeting, SOCKS5, PayPal, crypto, longest sessions, open to testing, Clear sourcing check), with each pick’s regular 10 GB price and the market medians for 1, 10 and 100 GB.

Takes no parameters.

sourcing_check

Where a provider’s IPs come from

ProxyRange’s sourcing check for one residential proxy provider: Clear, Unclear or Concerning, with its confidence, the reasons behind it, and the evidence items (what each source says, a link to it, and when we saw it), plus the provider’s reply if it sent one. Residential proxies route traffic through other people’s devices, so this is what we could establish about how those devices were enrolled.

ParametersproviderrequiredevidenceLimit

shared_infrastructure

Residential proxy brands that share infrastructure

Which residential proxy brands share infrastructure (their proxy gateways answer from the same addresses or resolve through the same DNS target), for one provider or for every brand ProxyRange covers. A gateway that is an alias of another brand’s host goes through that host; shared addresses alone are a technical link that doesn’t show who runs the network.
