Look up documented AI crawlers and agents, their claims and policy changes, and daily crawler activity snapshots from Rattlesnakes By Mail.
What you can do
Provides six tools over a remote endpoint. lookup_crawler returns identity fields, current claims, publication dates and evidence URLs for a named crawler; identify_user_agent matches an unknown User-Agent string to a documented crawler and gives verification instructions. list_changes lists recorded claim changes newest first, filterable by date or crawler, and get_snapshot returns a daily snapshot of crawler requests for one UTC date. ask matches a free-text question against published claims, and submit_note sends a correction or note for editorial review.
When to use it
Useful when you need to identify which AI crawler or agent produced a request, check what a crawler's published claims currently say, or see whether crawler policy changed after a given date. Also suited to reviewing daily crawler activity for a specific date.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared. submit_note requires a client token issued out of band by the publisher. Network access to the endpoint is needed.
Before you install
Every question sent to ask is recorded and may be published on a public questions page, so avoid including sensitive details. submit_note writes data, though notes are stored as pending and reviewed by an editor before publication, and it needs a publisher-issued client token. Snapshot numbers come from a single website.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.rattlesnakesbymail%2Frattlesnakesbymail/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Look up a documented crawler on Rattlesnakes By Mail by name, slug, or user-agent string, and return identity fields, current claims, publication dates, and evidence URLs. Use lookup_crawler when the crawler is already named, or when the user agent is already known to belong to a documented crawler.

identify_user_agent
Identify A User Agent

Parametersuser_agentrequired
list_changes
List Changes
List recorded changes to claims on Rattlesnakes By Mail, newest first, with the change date and the affected crawler. Filter by date with since, by crawler with entity, or by both. Use list_changes to detect crawler policy updates published after a given date.
Parameterslimitsinceentity
ask
Ask A Question
Match a free-text question against the claims published on Rattlesnakes By Mail, and return the matching claims, or no match when no published claim covers the question. Every question sent to ask is recorded, and a recorded question may be published on the public questions page at Rattlesnakes By Mail. Do not send private or identifying text to ask.
Parametersquestionrequired
submit_note
Submit A Note
Submit a correction or note about a claim, an entity, a question, or a daily snapshot on Rattlesnakes By Mail. Requires a client token issued out of band by the publisher. Every note is stored as pending, and an editor reviews every pending note before publication.
Return the daily snapshot of crawler activity on Rattlesnakes By Mail for one UTC date: dated facts, a table of crawler requests, context against each crawler's recent history, and links. Pass a six digit label such as 261101 or an ISO date such as 2026-11-01. The numbers come from one website and describe what these crawlers did here, not across the web.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
