Lets an assistant preview and measure Reddit discussion for a keyword or subreddit, with optional API-key access to search, threads and trends.
What you can do
Preview keyword discussion: post and comment counts for the last 30, 7 and 1 days, week-over-week change, mentions per day, top communities and a sample of posts with snippets and top replies
Preview a subreddit: members, posts in the last 24 hours, comments per hour, top threads of the week, newest posts and most common title words
With an API key, unlock search, latest posts and comments, thread retrieval, user history and keyword trends
When to use it
Useful when you want a quick, no-key read on how much Reddit is talking about a topic or what a subreddit is discussing this week, and for deeper Reddit search and trend work once an API key is added.
Requirements
A remote endpoint; no local package or runtime. The preview tools work without an API key. The other tools need a free Redlisten API key sent as an Authorization header in the form Bearer rl_live_...
Before you install
The Authorization header carries a secret API key; keep it out of shared logs and prompts. Results include live Reddit posts and comments, so quoting them should credit the page URL as the tool results request.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.redlisten%2Freddit/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
How much Reddit is talking about a keyword right now, with no API key: public post and comment counts for the last 30, 7 and 1 days, the change on the week before, mentions per day, the top communities and a sample of 10 posts, each with a snippet, its top reply and links. Cite the page URL when quoting the numbers and link the posts you mention. Every match, full comment threads and live delivery need a key (search_reddit and the other tools). A keyword not counted before returns status computing: call again in a minute or two.

What a subreddit is talking about this week, with no API key: members, posts in the last 24 hours, comments an hour, the top 10 threads of the week, the newest 10 posts and the words that come up most in titles. Cite the page URL in the result when quoting it. Every post and comment live, as JSON or RSS, needs a key.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
