Overview

AI-generated overview

Repolode recommends and compares open-source GitHub projects so an assistant can pick a dependency, tool or MCP server with evidence.

What you can do
  • Recommend projects for a stated need, with a default pick, alternatives and specialists
  • Compare a group of similar projects by slug, including roles, verdicts, licenses and maintenance
  • Search curated projects by keyword, category or language, and read a full write-up of one project
  • Find open-source alternatives to commercial products and see this week's fastest-growing projects
  • Browse topic collections and list the projects inside one
When to use it
Useful when choosing a dependency, self-hosted app or MCP server and you want side-by-side verdicts rather than raw search results, or when looking for open-source replacements for a paid product.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint at repolode.com over streamable HTTP; no authentication, environment variables or headers are declared. An optional locale parameter selects the response language.
Before you install
Recommendations and verdicts are Repolode's own editorial judgments based on its screening; verify licenses and maintenance signals before adopting a project. No credentials or write actions are involved.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Repolode in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.repolode%2Frepolode/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

choose_project

Choose an open-source project for a need

Recommends open-source projects for a need (e.g. 'MCP server to query Postgres', 'self-hosted Google Photos replacement', 'terminal coding agent'), from Repolode's comparisons of similar projects: the default pick, strong alternatives and specialists, when to choose and avoid each, plus a scenario guide. Projects are judged on code substance, engineering, real usage (downloads) and maintenance, not stars alone. Falls back to keyword search when no comparison covers the need.

83% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
