Overview

AI-generated overview

RestoSignals is a remote MCP server that gives an assistant scored, pre-opening US restaurant and bar leads built from public liquor, permit and business filing

What you can do
Check which states have live data and how many scored venues and hot leads each holds, free of charge, before querying anything else. Find restaurants and bars about to open in a state, ranked by an opening score from 0 to 100, with each lead tagged by liquor, food-permit and business signals. Register a webhook that fires when a new matching venue appears in a chosen area, filtered by state, city, signal type and minimum score. Retrieve the raw liquor, permit and business filings that were fused into a single venue for transparency.
When to use it
Useful for sales and prospecting work aimed at new restaurants and bars, such as POS or merchant-services resellers, beverage distributors, insurers and equipment suppliers, or for an assistant that monitors an area for upcoming openings. Call the coverage tool first, since states outside the live list return nothing.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package or runtime. A RestoSignals API key is required in the X-API-Key header (a bearer token is also accepted per the README). A free key with 100 lead credits is available at signup without a card. Network access to the hosted API is needed.
Before you install
The API key is a secret sent in the X-API-Key header and should be kept private. Queries consume credits: new_openings costs 1 credit per lead and venue_signals costs 1 credit, while coverage and watch_area are free. Free keys only see that a contact exists, not the contact details. Registering a webhook creates a persistent subscription. Data comes from public government open-data and the service is not affiliated with any government agency.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open RestoSignals in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect X-API-Key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.restosignals%2Frestosignals/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

RestoSignals MCP — restaurants and bars before they open

Remote MCP server, REST API and agent skill for pre-opening restaurant leads in the US. RestoSignals fuses public liquor-license applications, food-service permits and new-business filings into one deduped venue, scores how close it is to opening (opening_score 0–100), and attaches the owner contact found in those filings.

Built for anyone who sells to new restaurants — POS and merchant-services resellers, beverage distributors, insurers, equipment suppliers — and for agents that prospect on their behalf.

Quick start

Add the server to Claude Desktop / Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf or any MCP client:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "restosignals": {      "url": "https://api.restosignals.com/mcp",      "headers": { "X-API-Key": "pk_YOUR_KEY" }    }  }}

Claude Code one-liner:

bash
claude mcp add --transport http restosignals https://api.restosignals.com/mcp --header "X-API-Key: pk_YOUR_KEY"

Then ask: "Which restaurants are about to open in New York? Strongest leads first."

Coverage

Live with hot leads: NY, TX, IL, CA, OR. CO and WA have venues but are still thin. Refreshed daily. Always call coverage for the current list; nothing outside it is claimed.

Contact depth (subscribers): owner name from the filing everywhere, owner mailing address in TX and NY, phone in NYC. Free keys see that a contact exists, not the contact itself.

Install as an agent skill / Claude Code plugin

This repo is also a Claude Code plugin marketplace with the restosignals skill:

coverage

List the states RestoSignals currently has data for and how many scored venues each holds (with a count of hot leads, opening_score >= 80). Call this FIRST to see live inventory before new_openings — querying a state with no data returns nothing. Free (0 credits).

Takes no parameters.

new_openings

Find restaurants/bars about to open in a state, ranked by opening_score (0-100). Fuses liquor licenses, food permits and new-business filings into one scored venue. signal_types on each lead are 'liquor', 'food_permit' and 'business'. Live states: NY, TX, IL, OR, CO, WA, CA (call `coverage` for the current list). 1 credit per returned lead.
