Free passive security scan for AI-built apps: leaked API keys, public .env files, security headers

VerifiedStreamable HTTPWeb executableDeveloper ToolsSecurity & Monitoring

Overview

AI-generated overview

ShipLatch runs a free passive security scan on a public web app URL and returns a grade, issue counts and issue types.

What you can do
  • Scan a public web app URL with a free passive security scan and get a grade, issue counts and issue types
  • Fetch the summary of a scan by its scan reference, for example when a scan is still running
  • List the security check categories ShipLatch runs and which ones need ownership verification
When to use it
Useful when you have built or deployed a web app, including AI-generated apps from tools like Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Cursor, and want a quick read-only check for leaked API keys, public .env files and missing security headers.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at shiplatch.com over streamable HTTP; no packages, environment variables or headers are declared. The scan target must be a publicly reachable URL, and the assistant needs network access to the endpoint.
Before you install
Scans are passive and read-only: the server fetches the page and its public JavaScript like a browser, without logging in, submitting forms or testing exploits. Scan results are kept for 7 days. Some check categories require ownership verification, so not everything is covered by the free scan.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ShipLatch in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.shiplatch%2Fscanner/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

scan_url

Scan a web app (free, passive)

Run ShipLatch's free passive security scan on a public web app URL (for example a Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Cursor app). Read-only: it fetches the page and its public JS like a browser would and never logs in, submits forms or tests exploits. Returns the grade, issue counts and the type of each issue; exact locations and fix prompts stay in the full report for the verified owner. Only scan sites you own or are authorized to test. Results for the same site are cached for 24 hours. If the scan takes longer than about 25 seconds it returns status "running" and a scan_ref: call get_scan with it.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
