A remote SimpleFeed server that lets an assistant search rights-cleared news catalogs, read article metadata, manage bookmarks and export results.
What you can do
Search publishers' catalogs and get article metadata, with an optional interactive research widget view of results (no full article bodies). List available publishers and fetch a single article by content ID and publisher. Check the Free Discovery plan and remaining monthly search quota. Save, list, read and remove bookmarked articles for the account. Export bookmarks or results as a JSON, CSV or Markdown file and get a download link.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to find news articles across entitled publisher catalogs, keep a shortlist of articles for later review, or hand results to a person as an export file. Suited to light research on the free plan rather than full-text reading.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package, environment variables or headers are declared. An account on the Free Discovery plan is implied by the quota and bookmark tools. Network access to the hosted endpoint.
Before you install
Search and search_ui each consume the monthly Free Discovery quota of 100 queries, so repeated searches can exhaust it. Only metadata is returned, not full article text. Bookmark writes overwrite any previous snapshot for the same article, and removing a bookmark deletes it. Fetching an article may record a delivery audit entry for the account, and exports create downloadable files.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.simplefeed%2Fmcp-free/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Search articles and content on the Free Discovery plan. Returns metadata only (no full article body). Each call increments the monthly Free Discovery search quota (100 queries/month).
Search Free Discovery catalogs and return an interactive research widget (MCP App). Results contain article metadata only, without the full article body. Counts against the monthly Free Discovery search quota.
Return publishers available for Free Discovery (id, name, description, description_short, domain, logo_url). Does not count against quota.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
