Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant find and compare Simvito travel eSIM data plans, check phone eSIM support, and hand over checkout and payment links.

What you can do
  • Resolve destinations, regions and multi-country trips by name, code or misspelling
  • Search and compare eSIM plans by price, data, validity, operators and 4G/5G coverage
  • Compare local mobile networks and weigh one regional plan against separate country plans
  • Check whether a phone supports eSIM, including models bought in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macao
  • Get checkout options, buy links, order status and the user's own eSIM list when an account is connected
When to use it
Useful when someone is planning a trip and wants to know which travel data plan to buy, which local network or 5G coverage a plan offers, whether their phone supports eSIM, or how to pay for and track an eSIM order.
Requirements
Remote Streamable HTTP endpoint with no API key; a local stdio proxy is available as the npm package simvito-mcp and needs Node.js 18 or later. Account tools (start_checkout, get_order_status, list_my_esims) require connecting a Simvito account via OAuth, which works when the client connects to the hosted URL directly. Calls take locale and currency parameters.
Before you install
start_checkout is the only tool that writes: it places an order on the connected Simvito account and returns payment links, though payment itself happens on simvito.com. It may first return confirmation texts that must be shown verbatim and accepted by the user. Account tools expose the user's eSIM list and order status; they never return installation codes. Prices shown are card prices and may differ for some local payment methods.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Simvito eSIM in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.simvito%2Fesim/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Simvito eSIM MCP server

Let an AI assistant find, compare and buy travel eSIM data plans for you.

Tell the assistant where you're going and for how long. It compares Simvito plans by price, data and validity, shows which local networks each plan uses (4G/5G) and what happens when the data runs out, and gives you a link to pay on simvito.com. Searching is free and needs no account.

This is a hosted (remote) MCP server: connect to the URL below and there is nothing to install. For clients that only run local servers, this repository also has a small open-source stdio proxy (index.js, published on npm as simvito-mcp) that forwards every MCP message to the hosted server.

Connect

Endpoint (Streamable HTTP, no API key):

https://mcp.simvito.com/mcp?src=github

Claude: add Simvito eSIM from the connectors directory, or add a custom connector with the URL above.

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http simvito "https://mcp.simvito.com/mcp?src=github"

Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other clients

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "simvito": {      "type": "http",      "url": "https://mcp.simvito.com/mcp?src=github"    }  }}

Local (stdio) clients: run the npm package, which forwards to the hosted server.

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "simvito": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "simvito-mcp"]    }  }}

Or with Docker: docker build -t simvito-mcp . && docker run -i --rm simvito-mcp.

The proxy needs Node.js 18 or later and no API key. Account tools (start_checkout, get_order_status, list_my_esims) need the account connected, which works when your client connects to the hosted URL directly.

Connecting a Simvito account (OAuth) is optional. It adds checkout inside the chat, order status and your list of eSIMs.

Tools

10

find_destination

Find a destination

Find where a trip goes: a country, a region such as 'Europe' or 'Asia', or a multi-country plan, by name in any language, ISO code or misspelling (many cities and islands such as 'Tokyo' or 'Bali' work too). Returns destination slugs for the other tools; no prices.

Parametersqueryrequiredlocale

search_plans

Search eSIM plans

Find travel eSIM data plans for one destination and trip length, e.g. 'eSIM for Japan, 7 days' or '10 GB for Thailand'. Up to 5 plans with price in the user's currency, data, validity, the local operators each plan uses with 4G/5G, what happens when the data runs out, hotspot and top-up support, and a link to each plan.

Parametersdaysrequiredlocaledata_gbcurrencyplan_typedestinationrequired

compare_networks

Compare networks

Compare the local mobile networks for a destination side by side, for questions like 'which network is best in Thailand' or 'which eSIM has 5G in Tokyo': each operator the plans use, its best generation (4G/5G), how many plans use it and the cheapest one. For a multi-country plan, pass country to see that country's operators.

Parameterslocalecountrycurrencydestinationrequired

plan_trip

Plan a multi-country trip

For a trip through several countries (e.g. Japan 7 days, then Korea 5 days), compare one regional plan that covers every stop with a separate plan for each country, using the cheapest plans that cover each stop's days at the daily data need.

Parametersstopsrequiredlocalecurrencydata_gb_per_day

check_device

Check phone eSIM support

Check whether a phone supports eSIM, e.g. 'does my iPhone 13 support eSIM?'. Covers iPhone, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy from the manufacturers' official lists, including the exceptions for phones bought in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macao. Gives a verdict (supports_esim / no_esim); pass purchase_region when the user says where the phone was bought.

Parametersmodelrequiredlocalepurchase_region

list_my_esims

List my eSIMs

List the eSIMs in the user's connected Simvito account: destination, plan, status, whether installed, data left and expiry, with a link to manage each one (install, add data) on simvito.com. Requires connecting a Simvito account. Never returns installation codes.

Parameterslocale

get_checkout_options

Checkout options: languages, currencies, payment methods

Languages, currencies and payment methods at simvito.com checkout. Pass the buyer's country or currency to get the default currency there and the payment methods that currency can be paid with (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, local wallets and bank payments).

Parameterscountrycurrencylanguage

start_checkout

Get payment links

When the user decides to buy and their Simvito account is connected: places the order on their account and returns two payment links to give them exactly as returned, a secure payment page for cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and local wallets, and PayPal (when available for this order), with the total, any discount and an order number. Nothing is charged until the user pays on one of those pages. Pass items for up to 5 different plans from search_plans or plan_trip (up to 10 eSIMs in all), or plan_id and quantity for one plan. If the account isn't connected, use get_buy_link instead.

Parametersitemsdevicelocaleplan_idcurrencyquantitydestinationconfirmationsexpected_unit_amount

get_order_status

Check an order

After the user pays through start_checkout's links (e.g. they say 'paid' or 'is my eSIM ready?'): shows whether the payment arrived and the eSIM is ready, waiting up to about 25 seconds for it, with the eSIM, a link to install and manage it, and the Simvito app. Never returns installation codes.
