Overview

AI-generated overview

Soundza gives an assistant a searchable library of free sound effects, music and ambience, with downloads and AI-generated sound effects.

What you can do
  • Search sounds by words and filters such as type, length, tempo, key, mood and intended use
  • Read one sound's full metadata, and browse themed packs and their sounds
  • Get a download link, a ready curl command and the sound's page for a chosen sound
  • Generate a new sound effect from a text prompt, up to 10 seconds
When to use it
Useful when building games, videos or apps and you want the assistant to find, preview and pull in sound effects, music or ambience, or to create a short effect that the library does not have.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint over streamable HTTP; sign in with OAuth, or send an Authorization bearer API key for clients without sign-in. A free Soundza API key is available from the developer site. Network access is needed.
Before you install
The Authorization header carries a Soundza API key, so keep it out of shared configs. Downloads and generated sounds are produced on Soundza's side, so prompts and requests go to that service. Generation is limited to 250 per week and up to 10 seconds per sound.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Soundza in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.soundza%2Fsoundza/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

[Soundza]

Soundza MCP server

Free sound effects, music and ambience for your AI assistant or your code. Ask for "a coin pickup and a jump sound for my platformer" and it finds them on Soundza, downloads the files and wires them in. If nothing in the library fits, it can generate a new sound effect from a prompt.

Thousands of sounds · 35 metadata fields per sound · free for commercial use

Connect

Claude (web, desktop, phone): Add to Claude, then sign in to Soundza. Or add a custom connector with:

https://mcp.soundza.com/mcp/oauth

ChatGPT: Plugins → add a custom MCP server with the same URL and keep OAuth. Some plans need Developer mode turned on.

Claude Code:

sh
claude mcp add --transport http soundza https://mcp.soundza.com/mcp/oauth

Then run /mcp, choose soundza and sign in in the browser.

Codex, Cursor, VS Code and other agents: use https://mcp.soundza.com/mcp/oauth if the client supports sign-in. Otherwise use https://mcp.soundza.com/mcp with the header Authorization: Bearer <key>; get a free key at soundza.com/developers/keys.

Claude Code skill

The soundza skill teaches Claude Code (and other agents that read skills) to list the sounds a project needs, let you pick from previews and wire the files in:

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
