Validate startup ideas with your AI assistant through Startup Ignition ToolSuite.
Overview
Remote MCP server that connects an AI assistant to a Startup Ignition ToolSuite account so it can read, run and edit startup idea validation work.
- What you can do
- Read idea pages: idea analysis, canvases, personas, assumptions, interview scripts and findings, mentor conversations and version history
- Run validation steps such as Idea Analysis, Big Idea Canvas, Business Model Canvas, Identify Assumptions, Interview Scripts, Wow! Factor Analysis, Market Research and Founder-Idea Fit, and ask the Startup Ignition mentor a question
- Edit canvas answers and items, assumptions, personas, journey steps and storyboards, with each edit recorded in history and undoable
- Export any tool page as a PDF or a picture
- When to use it
- Useful for founders, accelerators and university entrepreneurship programs that already work in ToolSuite and want an assistant to summarize an idea, draft interview scripts, run validation steps or pull canvas views without switching apps.
- Requirements
- A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. OAuth 2.1 with PKCE sign-in through the browser, and a ToolSuite account (free accounts can connect). No API key or client secret. During approval the user picks workspaces, permissions (read, run tools, edit) and a daily usage limit.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Startup Ignition ToolSuite in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.startupignition%2Ftoolsuite/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Startup Ignition ToolSuite MCP server
A remote Model Context Protocol server that connects AI assistants to a user's Startup Ignition ToolSuite account. ToolSuite is a startup idea validation platform used by founders, accelerators and university entrepreneurship programs.
This repository holds the registry metadata and documentation. The server itself is hosted by Startup Ignition.
What it does
With a user's permission the connector lets an assistant:
- Read everything on the user's idea pages: idea analysis, Big Idea Canvas, business model canvas, customer personas, riskiest assumptions, interview scripts, interview findings (participants' identities removed), mentor conversations and version history.
- Run the Startup Ignition validation steps: Idea Analysis, Big Idea Canvas, Business Model Canvas, Identify Assumptions, Interview Scripts, Wow! Factor Analysis, Market Research and Founder-Idea Fit, and ask the Startup Ignition mentor a question.
- Edit canvas answers, canvas items, assumptions, personas, journey steps and storyboards. Every edit is recorded in the idea's history and can be undone.
- Export any tool page as a PDF or a picture.
62 tools in all. Every tool carries a title and a readOnlyHint or destructiveHint annotation. Run tools spend the workspace's ToolSuite credits within a daily limit the user sets when connecting; the connector never sells credits or links to billing.
How to configure
- Add the server to your client. In VS Code: Command Palette → MCP: Add Server → HTTP →
https://mcp.startupignition.com/mcp. Other clients are covered step by step in the setup guide. - Start the server. Your browser opens the ToolSuite sign-in page.
- Sign in, choose the workspaces the assistant may use, the permissions (read, run tools, edit) and a daily usage limit, and click Approve.
No API key or client secret is needed. A ToolSuite account is required; free accounts can connect.
How to use
Ask the assistant about your ideas by name:
- "Give me an overview of my idea in ToolSuite and what to do next."
- "Identify the riskiest assumptions behind my idea and draft the interview scripts."
- "Ask the Startup Ignition mentor which customer segment I should interview first."
- "Show me my business model canvas as a picture."
- "What did the customer interviews say about pricing?"
Disconnecting and privacy
Disconnect at any time in ToolSuite under Settings → AI assistants & MCP. Changing your password disconnects every app. Interview participants' names, contact details and interview links are never passed to the assistant.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
