Overview

AI-generated overview

Converts bank and credit card statement PDFs into balance-checked transactions and QuickBooks, Xero, OFX, CSV or Excel files, running locally.

What you can do
  • Check statement PDFs for account, period, balances, totals and rows needing review
  • Read every transaction with date, description, signed amount and running balance
  • Export import files for QuickBooks, Xero, OFX, CSV or Excel next to the PDFs, one file per account
  • Report free pages remaining this month
When to use it
Useful when you have bank or credit card statement PDFs and want an assistant to verify them and produce bookkeeping import files without uploading the documents anywhere.
Requirements
Node.js 22 or newer; runs as a local stdio process, typically launched with npx. No API keys or environment variables are declared. A folder or file path on your computer is given to the agent. Password-protected PDFs need the password supplied to the agent.
Before you install
Exports write new files next to the PDFs, though existing files are not overwritten. The free tier covers 20 pages a month; more pages require buying a page pack at the vendor's site. Password-protected statements mean sharing the PDF password with the agent. Scanned image-only PDFs are not supported.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open StatementSure in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

StatementSure for AI agents (MCP server)

Turn bank and credit card statement PDFs into verified transactions and QuickBooks, Xero, OFX, CSV or Excel files, right inside Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and any other MCP client.

  • Balance-checked: opening balance + transactions must equal the closing balance, and every running balance and section total is checked. You're told exactly which rows need a look.
  • Private: runs on your computer and makes no network calls. Your statements are never uploaded.
  • No bank templates: reads the page layout, so it works across banks. Tested on real RBC, TD, CIBC and Scotiabank statements in English and French, and on common US and UK layouts.

Same engine as statementsure.com.

Install

Requires Node.js 22 or newer.

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add statementsure -- npx -y statementsure-mcp

Claude Desktop, Cursor and other clients: add this to the client's MCP configuration (in Claude Desktop: Settings → Developer → Edit Config), then restart the client:

json
{ "mcpServers": { "statementsure": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "statementsure-mcp"] } } }

Then ask, for example: "Check the bank statements in ~/Documents/statements and export them for QuickBooks." Give the agent a folder or file path on your computer; don't attach the PDFs to the chat, because attachments are uploaded.

20 free pages a month. Only pages with transactions count. Statements that don't balance are free, and exporting the same PDF again in the same month is free. For more pages, buy a page pack at statementsure.com.

Agent skill (optional)

The package includes an agent skill (skills/statementsure/SKILL.md) that teaches the agent the workflow: check first, explain each statement's status, then export or reconcile.

  • Claude Code: copy the skills/statementsure folder into ~/.claude/skills/.
  • Claude Desktop: zip the statementsure folder and upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.

Good to know

  • Password-protected PDFs work; the agent will ask you for the password.
  • Scanned (image-only) PDFs aren't supported yet.
  • The free-page counter is kept in ~/.statementsure/usage.json.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
