Overview

AI-generated overview

SunoBoard connects an assistant to AI music and sound-effect generation services (Suno, Lyria, Stable Audio, MiniMax, ElevenLabs) to create tracks and SFX from,

What you can do
Generate music from a text prompt, style tags, lyrics, model choice and instrumental or vocal settings, then check status or wait for the finished audio URL and list recent tracks. Generate short sound effects from text descriptions, optionally shared publicly on SunoBoard Discover. Browse available music and SFX models with their costs, check remaining credits and usage, and search a public library of ready-made tracks. Retrieve a referral link.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to produce background music, game audio, or short sound effects directly from a conversation, including batch requests for many effects at once, without calling a music API by hand.
Requirements
A SunoBoard API key (sb_ prefix) or a sunoapi.org key, supplied as the SUNO_API_KEY environment variable; the server auto-detects the provider from the key prefix. Optional variables override the API base URL and polling behavior. Network access to the music generation service is required.
Before you install
Requires an API key that is passed in configuration; keep it private. Generations consume paid credits, and the server can check remaining credits and usage. Passing public: true on sound effects shares them on a public Discover page. Generated audio is sent to and stored by the third-party service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open SunoBoard in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.sunoboard%2Fsunoboard/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

@yellowkode/suno-mcp

MCP Server for Suno AI — Generate music directly from Claude, VSCode, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client.

by YellowKode Academy · sunoboard.com

[npm version] [License: MIT]

What is this?

@yellowkode/suno-mcp is an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that connects Claude and other AI assistants directly to the Suno AI music generation API.

Instead of manually calling the API, you can just tell Claude:

"Generate a dark ambient viking instrumental, slow drums, cinematic, no vocals"

...and Claude handles the full generation flow automatically.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18+
  • A Suno API key — two options:
OptionKey formatWhere to get
SunoBoard (recommended)sb_...sunoboard.com — generations saved to your dashboard
sunoapi.org (BYOK)abc123...sunoapi.org → Dashboard → API Keys

The server auto-detects which API to use based on the key prefix. No extra config needed.

Quick start

bash
# One-shot (no install needed)SUNO_API_KEY=your_key npx @yellowkode/suno-mcp
# Or install globallynpm install -g @yellowkode/suno-mcp

Setup

Claude Desktop

Edit claude_desktop_config.json:

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "suno": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["@yellowkode/suno-mcp"],      "env": {        "SUNO_API_KEY": "your_key_here"      }    }  }}

Claude Code (terminal)

bash
claude mcp add suno \  -e SUNO_API_KEY=your_key_here \  -- npx @yellowkode/suno-mcp

Cursor / Cline (VSCode)

Add to .cursor/mcp.json or .vscode/mcp.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "suno": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["@yellowkode/suno-mcp"],      "env": {        "SUNO_API_KEY": "your_key_here"      }    }  }}
