Remote directory of developer tools, APIs, MCP servers and SaaS: search by need, compare products, and submit or flag listings.
What you can do
Search the directory with natural-language queries and filters such as category, free tier, API, MCP or open source
Fetch every field of a single product by its slug
Compare two to six products side by side on pricing, free tier, API, MCP, SDK and open source
Find similar products by vector similarity, with optional filters
Submit a product URL for crawling and listing, and report a listing as outdated or wrong
When to use it
Useful when choosing between developer tools or SaaS and you want pricing, free-tier and API facts gathered in one place, or when you need alternatives to a product you already know. Also handy for adding a product to the directory or flagging a stale listing.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access to the provider's endpoint is needed.
Before you install
Submitting a product URL and reporting a listing both change directory data: submission triggers a crawl and a public listing, and a report triggers a re-crawl (at most once per hour per product). Queries and submitted URLs are sent to the third-party directory service.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.toolgrep%2Ftoolgrep/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Search the directory with a natural-language query and optional structured filters (category, free tier, API, MCP, open source). The query is matched by full-text and semantic similarity, so phrasing it like a need ("send transactional email with a free tier") works well. Returns up to `limit` products (default 10, max 50).
Put 2 to 6 products side by side on pricing, free tier, API, MCP, SDK and open source. Returns the full records plus a field-by-field table keyed by slug.

find_alternatives
Find alternatives
Products similar to a given one (vector similarity), with optional filters. Nearest neighbours of the product's embedding; falls back to the same category when the vector index is unavailable.
Submit a product URL to be crawled and listed. No account needed. The site is crawled and the listing is usually live within a minute; poll status_url.
Parametersurlrequiredemail
report_outdated
Report outdated listing
Flag a listing as outdated or wrong; triggers a re-crawl. A re-crawl runs at most once per hour per product; the report is always recorded.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
