Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant fetch YouTube transcripts, video metadata and playlist or channel video lists through the Transkrio API.

What you can do
  • Retrieve a video's full transcript as plain text, with timestamps, or as SRT/VTT subtitles
  • Read video metadata such as title, channel, duration, views, likes, upload date and caption languages
  • List the videos of a playlist or channel, newest first for channels
  • Chain listing and transcript calls to work through a whole playlist or a channel's recent uploads
When to use it
Useful when the assistant needs to summarize, quote, translate, search or analyze what is said in a YouTube video, or to gather metadata and video lists for a playlist or channel.
Requirements
A remote endpoint at api.transkrio.com over streamable HTTP, with a Transkrio API key sent in the x-api-key header. A free key with 100 credits is offered by the provider. Each successful call costs 1 credit.
Before you install
The API key is a secret sent in the x-api-key header. Calls consume paid credits from the Transkrio account (1 per successful call; failures are free), so heavy use spends the balance. Video URLs and identifiers are sent to a third-party service.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Transkrio in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect x-api-key credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.transkrio%2Ftranskrio/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows
