Lets an assistant get Alpy's YouTube scriptwriting brief, list characters, and turn a script into a hand-drawn, AI-narrated video.
What you can do
Returns Alpy's YouTube scriptwriting brief so the assistant can write the script itself, lists the characters a video can be drawn with, and turns a script into a hand-drawn video with an AI voice. Other tools report a video's status and progress, list recent videos, and make the full video after a free preview.
When to use it
Use it when a creator wants a hand-drawn style YouTube video, needs help shaping a script, or wants to turn a script into a narrated video with saved characters. Scriptwriting alone works without an account.
Requirements
Remote MCP endpoint; no local package. Listing characters and creating or checking videos need a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key in the Authorization header; without it only the scriptwriting tool is available.
Before you install
Creating and making videos spends the account's existing video minutes (one per started minute), so confirm with the user first. The API key is a secret credential. Preview and finished-video links are valid for only an hour.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.tryalpy%2Falpy/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Start here for any Alpy script. Returns Alpy's YouTube scriptwriting brief, which you then follow to write the script yourself. Pass whichever of topic, length, character and tone the creator has already given; the brief asks for the rest. Reads nothing and changes nothing.

list_characters
List characters
The characters an Alpy video can be drawn with: Alpy's own cast, and the creator's saved characters. Pass a character's id and source to create_video. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.
Takes no parameters.
create_video
Make an Alpy video
Turns a script into a hand-drawn Alpy video narrated by an AI voice. The script is the spoken narration only, 110-2700 words (write it first with write_youtube_script if needed). Returns a video id; poll get_video every minute or so. Confirm the creator authorizes spending their existing minutes before calling. A creator with enough video minutes gets the full video straight away, which spends those minutes; otherwise their one free 10-second preview is made first. At most 10 a day. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.
Where a video is: its status, progress, and, once made, links to the free preview and the finished video (valid for an hour). Says what to do next. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

The creator's most recent Alpy videos, newest first, with their status. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

make_full_video
Make the full Alpy video
After the free preview, makes the whole video. Spends the creator's video minutes (one per started minute of video), so confirm with them first. If they lack minutes it reports that the feature is unavailable. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.
