Lets an assistant search the Vooks children's library of animated storybooks, audiobooks and ebooks by age, topic and language, and read published…
What you can do
Search and browse titles by free-text query, child's age, topic, narration language and audio-only availability
Read a single title's full description, age band, Lexile measure, running time and topics
List every valid topic slug with title counts before filtering
Recommend titles for one child from age, interests, available minutes and language, with a reason for each pick
Look up published subscription plans, prices, billing intervals, trial lengths and the school option
Start a bulk catalog export with filters and check its job status and download link
When to use it
Useful when a parent, teacher or caregiver asks what to read or watch with a child aged roughly 2 to 8, wants picks explained, or asks what a Vooks subscription costs. Also handy for bulk catalog research through exports.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at the Vooks site; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. Network access to the endpoint is needed.
Before you install
The server exposes only public catalog data and holds no account, subscriber or playback information; actually watching a title requires a separate Vooks subscription. Exports and recommendations are read-only, but prices should be taken from the pricing tool rather than assumed.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.vooks%2Fcatalog/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Search the Vooks library of animated read-along storybooks, audiobooks and ebooks for children. Combine a free-text query with a child's age, a topic, a narration language and whether an audio-only version exists. Use this to answer 'what should a five-year-old who likes dinosaurs watch'. Returns the matching titles and the true total for the filters, so you can tell a narrow result from an empty library.
Fetch a single Vooks title by its slug, including the publisher's full description, age band, Lexile measure, running time and topics. Reads the live catalog rather than the search index, so it is never a snapshot. Use it after search_titles when you need to say more about one book than the search result carries.
Parametersslugrequired
list_topics
List Vooks topics
List every topic slug search_titles accepts, with how many titles carry each one. Call this before filtering by topic rather than guessing a slug: a guess that does not exist is rejected, and this tells you what the library is actually organised around.
Parameterscontains
recommend_titles
Recommend Vooks titles for a child
Pick Vooks titles for one child, given their age, what they are interested in, how many minutes are available and which language to narrate in. Each recommendation comes back with the reason it was chosen, so you can explain the pick to a parent or teacher rather than just listing books.
Return every published Vooks subscription plan with its price, billing interval, audience and free-trial length, plus the school and district option, which is quoted per customer rather than priced. Use this to answer what Vooks costs instead of quoting a figure from memory.
Parametersaudience
create_catalog_export
Start a Vooks catalog export
Start an asynchronous export of every Vooks title matching the given filters, for bulk work that would otherwise be hundreds of searches. Returns a job id immediately; poll it with get_export_job. The idempotency_key makes a retry safe: calling again with the same key returns the original job rather than starting a second one.
Parametersagetopiclanguageidempotency_keyrequired
get_export_job
Check a Vooks catalog export
Report the status of an export started by create_catalog_export. download_url points at the finished export. A job is derived from its id rather than stored, so it never expires and needs no polling: the status is succeeded the moment create_catalog_export returns.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
