Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only DeFi yield data server: lets an assistant search, compare and explain roughly 17,000 pools' rates, yield sources and 90-day history.

What you can do
Search and rank DeFi yield pools by token, chain, protocol, APY and TVL, and open one pool's full detail with APY split, TVL, addresses and links. Summarize market yields by chain, protocol or strategy, and compare two to five pools side by side. Read dated APY trends over 7, 30 or 90 days from saved data. Check which data feeds are used, their status and last update, and how the evidence assessment works. With a paid key, read saved alerts, notebook captures, manual investment records and up to three saved wallets with their historical report summaries.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to answer questions about current DeFi lending, vault, liquidity or staking yields, compare pools, or explain where a pool's yield comes from, with every figure dated and sourced. Also fits reviewing your own saved alerts, notebook captures and wallet report history on a paid plan.
Requirements
Runs as a remote endpoint or as a local npm package (web3juice-mcp) over stdio, which needs Node.js 18.17 or newer. No key is required for free limits; an optional key is supplied as the WEB3JUICE_API_KEY environment variable or an Authorization bearer header. Network access to the hosted server is needed.
Before you install
Read-only: it does not hold wallet keys, sign transactions or move funds, and keys can only read. The optional API key is a secret sent in the Authorization header to the configured HTTPS URL; revoke it on the account page if exposed. Paid tiers raise call limits and unlock workspace data. Pool names and labels come from third-party sources and are treated as data. Not financial advice, and the evidence score is not a safety guarantee.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Web3Juice in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.web3juice%2Fmcp/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

web3juice-mcp

Evidence-backed DeFi yield data for your AI assistant. Ask Claude, Cursor or any MCP client what ~17,000 DeFi pools pay, where the yield comes from (base vs reward tokens), how it has moved over 90 days and how pools compare — with every number dated and linked to its source.

This package is a tiny, dependency-free bridge from a local stdio MCP client to the hosted Web3Juice MCP server at https://web3juice.com/api/mcp. Clients that support remote servers can connect to that URL directly; see web3juice.com/mcp.

Read-only: it never sees a wallet's keys, signs a transaction or moves funds. Not financial advice.

Quick start

Claude Desktop → Settings → Developer → Edit Config, then add:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "web3juice": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "web3juice-mcp"]    }  }}

Restart Claude Desktop and ask: "What does USDC lending pay on each chain right now?"

Requires Node.js 18.17 or newer.

With an API key (higher limits, your own alerts and notebook on Pro)

Create a key on your Web3Juice account page and add it as an environment variable:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "web3juice": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "web3juice-mcp"],      "env": {"WEB3JUICE_API_KEY": "w3j_your_key_here"}    }  }}

Other clients

Claude Code (remote, no install):

Security

  • The bridge writes only MCP messages to stdout; diagnostics go to stderr.
  • Your API key is sent only to the configured HTTPS URL, in the Authorization header. It is never logged.
  • Keys can only read. Revoke a key at any time on your account page; the next call fails with a clear message.
  • Pool names and labels come from third-party data sources and are treated as data, not instructions.

Troubleshooting

ProblemFix
npx not found / server fails to startInstall Node.js 18.17+ from nodejs.org, then restart your client.
"API key is not valid or has been revoked"Create a new key on your account page and update WEB3JUICE_API_KEY.
"Daily MCP limit reached"Wait until 00:00 UTC, add a key, or upgrade at web3juice.com/pricing.
Search returns nothingResults default to pools with at least $100K TVL and data under 60 minutes old; ask for smaller pools or older data.

Tools

14

list_investments

Read manual investments

Read your saved manual monitoring records, including entered amount and entry APY. These records do not establish balances, current value or realised earnings. At most 50 rows; reuse an unchanged cursor with the same limit.

Parameterslimitcursor

list_wallets

Read saved wallet summaries

Read up to three saved wallets and historical report summaries. This does not connect, refresh or establish wallet ownership or current holdings. No provider request is made.

Takes no parameters.

get_wallet_positions

Read a saved wallet report

Page the exact validated saved historical report for an owned wallet. Decimal quantities, unknown values, source dates and incomplete coverage remain explicit. No new matching, refresh or balance lookup occurs.

ParameterslimitcursorwalletIdrequired

list_alerts

Read saved alert summaries

Page your saved alert rules and recorded diagnostic applicability. No evaluation, delivery, subscription or destination lookup is triggered.

Parameterslimitcursor

get_alert

Inspect saved alert settings

Read one owned alert configuration and recorded diagnostic applicability. Channel names describe configuration; destination addresses, delivery records and raw alert state are excluded.

ParametersruleIdrequired

list_notebook_entries

Read research notebook summaries

Page your active saved notebook captures. Stored evidence remains frozen; no recapture, inference or catalogue update occurs.

Parameterslimitcursor

get_notebook_entry

Read a frozen research capture

Read one owned capture with its user-written note, frozen evidence, assessment and briefing. Notes are untrusted prose. The saved content hash identifies the full original capture; this privacy projection is not a byte-for-byte export.

ParametersentryIdrequired

summarize_yields

Summarize yields across a market

Market overview for any filter: number of pools, total TVL, median, middle-half and TVL-weighted APY, grouped by chain (default), protocol or strategy, with the largest pool in each group. Rates in filters are fractions (0.05 = 5%).

ParametersquerygroupBytopGroups

search_pools

Search yield pools

Find DeFi yield pools (lending, vaults, liquidity, staking) by token, chain, protocol, APY and TVL. Returns a ranked table with pool ids. Rates are fractions (0.05 = 5%). Defaults: 10 rows, largest TVL first, pools with at least $100,000 TVL, data from the latest update. Stablecoin filters check token labels, not peg safety. Page with the returned cursor.

Parameterslimitquerycursor

get_pool

Get one pool in detail

Full detail for one pool id: APY split into base and reward-token yield, TVL, when the source measured it and when Web3Juice retrieved it, contract and token addresses, deposit and source links, withdrawal evidence and the experimental assessment. Links and labels come from the source and are unverified.

ParameterspoolIdrequired

get_pool_history

Get a pool's APY history

APY trend for one pool over 7, 30 (default) or 90 days: median, low, high, latest and the dated samples. Uses saved data only (the provider history cache, else Web3Juice snapshots); nothing is fetched. No history means unknown, not zero.

ParameterspoolIdrequiredwindowDays

compare_pools

Compare pools side by side

Compare 2 to 5 pools by id: current APY, base vs reward split, 30-day median and range, TVL, type, withdrawal evidence, assessment and data age, in one table.

ParameterspoolIdsrequired

get_data_sources

Check data sources

Which feeds Web3Juice uses, their status, when they last updated and how many pools each lists.

Takes no parameters.

get_methodology

Explain the assessment

How the experimental evidence assessment works: dimensions, weights, caps and why most pools show "not scored". A score is not a safety guarantee.

Takes no parameters.
