Overview

AI-generated overview

Clearparty is a remote MCP server that lets an assistant verify a company's legal identity, ownership chain, sanctions exposure and EU VAT number before a deal.

What you can do
  • Check a counterparty: resolve the legal entity in GLEIF and walk its parent chain
  • Screen sanctions: check every company in the chain against OFAC, EU, UN and UK lists
  • Validate VAT: confirm EU VAT numbers through VIES
  • Return lookup results the agent can act on before paying, invoicing or signing
When to use it
Useful when an agent is about to pay, invoice or sign a contract with a company and you want identity, ownership, sanctions and VAT checks first. Also suited to KYB-style due diligence lookups on a named company, LEI, VAT number or registry number.
Requirements
A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at mcp.clearparty.dev; no local package or runtime. OAuth sign-in is required (GitHub account, browser sign-in on first tool call). Alternatively an Authorization header with a Clearparty API key created in the account settings. Network access to the Clearparty server, EU VIES and Anthropic.
Before you install
OAuth sign-in grants the app access to your account; connected apps can be reviewed and revoked. If you use an API key instead, it is a live secret sent in the Authorization header. Tool inputs (company name, LEI, VAT or registry number) and your sign-in token go to Clearparty, which forwards VAT checks to VIES and may send company names and candidate matches to Anthropic for match resolution or AI summaries. It provides data lookup, not compliance decisions.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Clearparty in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/dev.clearparty%2Fclearparty/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Clearparty plugin for Claude Code

Clearparty checks a company before your agent pays, invoices or signs a contract with it. It resolves the legal entity in GLEIF, walks its parent chain, screens every company in the chain against the OFAC, EU, UN and UK sanctions lists, and validates EU VAT numbers in VIES.

This plugin adds two things to Claude Code:

  • the Clearparty MCP server, with the tools check_counterparty, validate_vat and screen_sanctions;
  • the clearparty-counterparty-check skill, which tells the agent when to run a check and how to act on the result.

Install

You need Claude Code 2.1.292 or later and a GitHub account.

bash
claude plugin install clearparty --marketplace clearparty/clearparty-plugin

The first tool call opens a browser: Sign in with GitHub and allow Claude Code. You can also run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Authenticate. There is no API key to copy. See and revoke connected apps at https://app.clearparty.dev/account/apps.

Updating from 1.0.0: the stored API key is no longer used, so sign in once after the update. To keep using a key instead, add the server with claude mcp add and an Authorization header (see https://app.clearparty.dev/connect).

What is sent, and where

When the agent calls a tool, the plugin sends the tool inputs (a company name, LEI, VAT number or registry number) and your sign-in token to https://mcp.clearparty.dev/mcp, and nowhere else. Clearparty's server then checks VAT numbers in the EU's VIES service, and may send the company name and candidate matches to its language-model provider (Anthropic) to resolve an ambiguous match or, when you ask for an AI summary, to write it. The plugin itself contains no code that runs on your machine.

Other clients

Cursor, VS Code, claude mcp add and any Streamable HTTP client: see https://app.clearparty.dev/connect.

Terms

Clearparty provides data lookup, not compliance decisions. See the terms at https://app.clearparty.dev/terms.
