Heard Friends
dev.heardv1.0.1Updated Oct 6, 2026
Your coding agents' hours this month, your friends board, and invites you approve.
Overview
Lets an assistant read your monthly coding-agent hours, compare them with friends on a leaderboard, and send invites.
- What it does
- A hosted MCP server for Heard, a Mac voice layer for coding agents. It exposes tools to report your agent hours for the month and your rank among friends, produce a ready-to-paste share line with your hours and invite link, rank you against friends who chose to share, and email a single friend an invite. The invite tool shows a preview on the first call and only sends after you confirm, with a limit of five per day.
- When to use it
- Worth adding if you use Heard on a Mac and want to ask an assistant about your monthly agent hours, see where you stand on your friends board, or generate a share post with your invite link. Not useful if you do not use Heard or do not want your hours shared with friends.
- Requirements
- A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at nothing to install locally. Requires a Heard account and a bearer key obtained from heard.dev/connect, supplied as an Authorization header (for example via the HEARD_KEY environment variable in some clients). Network access is needed.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Heard Friends in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

Heard Friends MCP
Ask your AI assistant how many hours your coding agents worked this month.
Heard is the voice layer for coding agents on the Mac. It reads Claude Code and Codex out loud while they work. It also keeps one number per month: how long your agents were busy. This MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other assistants read that number, show your board next to your friends, and send an invite when you ask for one.
It's a hosted server. There's nothing to install or run.
Things to ask
- "How many hours did my coding agents work this month?"
- "Where am I on my Heard board?"
- "Write a short post about my month with my invite link."
- "Invite [email protected] to Heard."
Tools
Set it up
- Sign in at heard.dev/connect and click Get my key. The page gives you the exact line for each app, key included.
- Paste it into your assistant.
Claude Code
Or as a plugin:
The plugin reads your key from the HEARD_KEY environment variable.
Codex (~/.codex/config.toml)
Cursor and other apps (mcp.json)
Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Grok, Meta Muse: add a custom connector with the URL above and an Authorization: Bearer <key> header. One-click sign-in for these apps is coming. It won't need a key.
What the assistant can see
Your first name, your agent hours for the month, your rank on your board, and your invite link. That's it. Heard counts hours from the timestamps Claude Code and Codex save on your Mac. It never reads your prompts or your code, and none of that reaches this server. Friends only show up if they chose to share their hours.
Turn your key off any time at heard.dev/connect. Getting a new key also turns off the old one.
