Remote MCP server that checks an ESP32 project's board, pins, power and JLCPCB parts, estimates build costs, and can request Protoship to finish the build.
What you can do
Inspect an ESP32 project from a public GitHub repo, a folder or file in it, a raw file link, or inline files, returning board and chip, firmware type, modules, GPIO assignments with strapping, flash and input-only pin findings, and power problems.
Check a BOM against JLCPCB basic and preferred-extended parts in stock, matching by LCSC number, manufacturer part number, or value and chip size for passives, and note feeder fees.
Compare ordering a small PCB yourself (JLCPCB bare boards and Economic assembly, AISLER) with having Protoship finish the build, including fees, shipping, EU import duty and lead times.

When to use it
Useful when a user is designing or debugging an ESP32 board and wants pin, power and part checks, or is deciding between self-ordering a small PCB run and paying Protoship to build a finished device. Also relevant for users who want to hand off a working prototype or join the ordering waitlist.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at mcp.protoship.dev; no package, account, API key or environment variable is declared. The check, part-matching and cost tools need no account. The request and waitlist tools need the user's own email address, which is confirmed by email.
Before you install
request_finish sends the user's build to Protoship as a paid service at a fixed price agreed before shipping, and join_waitlist and request_finish send the user's email address and trigger confirmation emails; use only the user's own address and only with consent. Using the tools means accepting Protoship's terms. Cost estimates omit what the server does not know and vendor prices are read from third-party pages.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/dev.protoship%2Fprotoship/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Reads an ESP32 project from a public GitHub repo (or a folder or file in it, or a raw file link) or from files you pass inline, and returns: the board and chip, firmware type, the modules it uses, every GPIO it assigns with findings (flash pins, strapping pins, input-only pins, the board's own display/touch/SD pins, octal PSRAM pins), power notes, whether there is a custom PCB, BOM or enclosure files, whether the build fits Finish my build, and next steps. Free, read-only, stores nothing.

match_parts
Match a BOM against JLCPCB basic parts
Checks each BOM line against JLCPCB's basic and preferred-extended parts in stock. Those load without a feeder fee on Economic assembly; every other unique part costs one. Matches by LCSC number (Cxxxx), manufacturer part number, or for resistors, capacitors and inductors by value and chip size, and suggests a footprint change when the same value is basic in another size. Returns per line status, part and price, plus the feeder fees in total. Free, read-only.

estimate_build
Estimate cost and lead time
Compares ordering a small PCB yourself (JLCPCB bare boards and Economic assembly, AISLER in Germany; fees, shipping, EU import duty and lead times read from the vendors' own pages, with links and the date checked) with having the existing build finished by Protoship. Leaves out what it does not know instead of guessing. Free, read-only.
Sends your user's working ESP32 build to Protoship as a Finish my build request: an individual service on their own hardware (case made for their board, wiring fixed, firmware flashed and tested, back as a USB-C device). Protoship sends one email to confirm the address; after that it answers within two working days with questions or a fixed price. Nothing is binding and nothing is paid until your user accepts a price. Use only your user's own email address, only with their consent. Privacy policy: https://protoship.dev/privacy
Returns the state of a request: pending until your user confirms the email, then confirmed (Protoship answers by email).
Parametersrequest_idrequired
join_waitlist
Join the Protoship waitlist
Puts your user on the Protoship waitlist for ordering PCBs, 3D prints, CNC parts and sheet metal through their agent. Protoship sends one email to confirm the address, later one with the invite. No newsletter. Use only your user's own email address and only with their consent. Privacy policy: https://protoship.dev/privacy
