Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted, read-only MCP server that lets an assistant look up announced OpenAI Codex usage-limit resets from one public X account.

What you can do
  • List Codex reset announcements from @thsottiaux on X, newest first, with post link, posting time, recording time and reset type
  • View the same announcements grouped by UTC calendar date, optionally filtered to one month
  • Report when the monitor last checked X successfully
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to check whether a Codex usage-limit reset has been announced, or to review recent reset history by date, without leaving the chat.
Requirements
Remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at tokenusage.dev; no API key, account or sign-in. Clients that only support stdio can bridge with mcp-remote. Network access to the hosted endpoint is required.
Before you install
Read-only and writes nothing, but the data is unofficial and not affiliated with OpenAI; a post is not proof that your own limit was reset, and a date without an entry does not mean no reset was announced. Only one X account is monitored. Public display of the data requires a visible credit line linking to tokenusage.dev.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Codex Reset Tracker in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/dev.tokenusage%2Fcodex/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Codex Reset Tracker MCP server

A hosted, read-only MCP server for OpenAI Codex usage-limit resets, from tokenusage.dev. Ask your agent whether Codex has announced a reset, and it reads the record behind the Codex reset tracker.

[Codex Reset Tracker on tokenusage.dev]

  • Endpoint: https://tokenusage.dev/mcp (Streamable HTTP)
  • No API key, no account, no sign-in
  • Read-only: nothing runs on your machine and nothing is written

This repository holds client configuration only. The server is hosted at tokenusage.dev; its fields, caching and limits are documented at tokenusage.dev/developers.

Nerf Watch has a separate read-only MCP server for public benchmark scores and history. See Nerf Watch installation and tools. A lower score is a lower score on this suite, not proof that a provider changed a model. Data: tokenusage.dev linked to https://tokenusage.dev/nerfwatch.

Tools

ToolWhat it returns
get_codex_reset_announcementsCodex usage-limit reset announcements by @thsottiaux on X, newest first (limit 1 to 50, default 10): each post's link, when it was posted, when tokenusage.dev recorded it and its resetType (automatic, banked or both; null for records older than reset types), plus when the monitor last checked X.
get_codex_reset_calendarThe same announcements grouped by UTC calendar date, newest first, at most 50 in total; an optional month (YYYY-MM) selects one UTC month. A date without an entry does not mean no reset was announced.

A banked reset grant saves a reset for eligible users to apply later and does not itself refill limits. A post is not proof that your own limit was reset: open its link for the exact wording, and check your Codex account for your personal reset times. Only @thsottiaux is watched.

Codex reset announcements

Codex usage-limit reset announcements recorded by tokenusage.dev's Reset Alerts from @thsottiaux's public posts on X, newest first (at most 50): each post's link, when it was posted, when this site recorded it and resetType, plus when the monitor last checked X successfully. resetType is automatic, banked or both; null means recorded before Reset Alerts recorded reset types. A banked reset grant saves a reset for eligible users to apply later and does not itself refill limits.
