WebExtract is a remote MCP server that fetches public web pages and returns clean Markdown or fixed-schema JSON with article metadata, product/price and tables.
What you can do
Fetch a public web page and return clean Markdown only, the cheaper option at 0.4 credit per call (page_markdown). Fetch a public web page and return Markdown plus fixed-schema JSON covering article metadata, product/price and tables, at 1 credit per call (extract_url). Both tools respect robots.txt and work on public pages only.
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs readable page text or structured product, price, table or article data from public web pages without building its own scraper. Choose page_markdown for plain text and extract_url when structured fields are needed.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; nothing to install locally. No account is needed for the free tier of 20 calls per day per IP. Beyond that, an API key is sent as an Authorization Bearer token or as the x-api-key header, and prepaid credits must be purchased.
Before you install
Calls beyond the free daily quota consume prepaid credits tied to the API key, so usage costs money. The API key is a secret sent in the Authorization or x-api-key header. Page content is fetched by a third-party service, so the URLs requested are visible to that provider. MCP calls cannot pay per call via x402; that option exists only on the REST endpoints.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/dev.webextract%2Fextract/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
