Unpaid x402 probe: status, latency, payment terms. x402 $0.005 USDC, Base. As is, no warranty.
Remote MCP server with one tool that probes a public HTTPS URL for x402 payment requirements without paying, returning status, latency and price terms.
What you can do
Probe a public HTTPS URL for x402 payment requirements without ever paying
Get back HTTP status, latency, whether a 402 response and payment requirements parse, supported networks, minimum price and a schema flag
Inspect x402 terms priced in USDC on Base
Receive factual results only, with no rating or certification of the target
When to use it
Useful when you want to check whether an endpoint speaks x402 and what it would charge, or to measure its status and latency, before deciding to pay or integrate. It is a read-only inspection step, not a payment client.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no authentication, environment variables or headers are declared. The target must be a public HTTPS URL. Probes are capped at roughly 12 seconds, 200KB and 5 redirects.
Before you install
The tool never pays, so it cannot complete a paid x402 request. Results are provided as is with no warranty and are not a rating or certification of the target. Each probe is described as costing $0.005 USDC, so confirm how that charge is applied before relying on it. Only public HTTPS URLs are accepted.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/dev.workers.rainmaker-wells.well-012-x402-probe%2Fx402-probe/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
