Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant search Neeed Directory's software listings, read product cards, draft a listing for a maker to claim, and manage the signed-in maker's own…

What you can do
  • Search and read the public catalog: search products, fetch a product card by slug, list categories, and page through product cards with query, category, label and tag filters
  • Draft a listing: submit_product saves a private draft and returns a claim link for the maker to sign in and submit
  • Review your own listings: my_listings shows status, plan, badge and admin feedback, and update_listing edits name, punchline, description, category, pricing model or Twitter handle
  • Check badge and upgrade: check_badge looks for the Neeed badge on a Free listing's site, and upgrade_listing returns a Stripe Checkout link for Premium
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to look up software and digital products in Neeed Directory, cite their pages, or help a maker draft, edit, verify or upgrade their own listing.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at neeed.directory; no package or API key. Public catalog tools need no sign-in. Listing management tools require signing in with the listings:write permission, which the client prompts for.
Before you install
Listing tools act on the signed-in maker's account: submit_product creates a draft or submits a listing, update_listing changes listing content, and editing a non-live listing sends it back for review. upgrade_listing returns a Stripe Checkout link; payment happens in the browser and nothing is charged until the maker pays. check_badge records nothing.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Neeed Directory in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/directory.neeed%2Flistings/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

submit_product

Submit a product

Without sign-in, saves a private draft listing on Neeed Directory and returns a claim link: nothing is published or charged until the maker opens it, signs in and submits. check_badge

Check my badge

Looks for the Neeed badge on one of your Free listings' sites now and answers found, missing or inconclusive, with the markup to add. It records nothing: the maker presses Verify on the listing's edit page to make the link dofollow or bring a hidden listing back.

update_listing
