Find, personalize, share, and mail animated greeting cards with original music.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Lets an assistant search a catalog of animated greeting cards with original songs, personalize them, create shareable eCard links, and order printed cards…

What it does
ModCard is a hosted catalog of animated greeting cards, each with its own original song. Through tools such as find_cards, make_card, personalize_card, set_card_message and set_card_color, the assistant searches by occasion, recipient, age, interests or city and produces a personalized copy with a message and names. It can then create a shareable eCard link with create_share, or order a printed card mailed to a US address via checkout_card, with get_order_status and list_my_orders for tracking.
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to find and personalize a greeting card for an occasion, send a digital eCard link, or arrange a printed card by mail without leaving the chat. It suits voice-driven or conversational ordering where you would rather not browse a card site yourself.
Requirements
A remote MCP server at using Streamable HTTP; nothing to install locally. It requires OAuth 2.1 sign-in with a ModCard account (free to create, via Google, Apple or email) and a one-time browser approval; no API key. Printed-card orders need a US mailing address and payment through a Stripe checkout page.
Before you install
Orders involve real payments: checkout_card produces a Stripe payment link, and pay_for_card can charge a saved credit card only if you enable that in your ModCard profile, up to a per-order cap (not available in Claude). The assistant can use your saved address without seeing it in full, and never sees card numbers. It can create shareable eCard links and place print-and-mail orders, so review orders before confirming. Access can be revoked by removing the connector.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open ModCard in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

ModCard MCP server

Find, personalize, share, and mail animated greeting cards with original music, from any AI assistant that supports MCP.

ModCard is a catalog of animated greeting cards, each with its own original song. Connect it to your assistant and ask for the card you need, such as "a funny birthday card for my dad who loves fishing". The assistant searches the catalog, makes your own copy with your message and names, and shows you a private preview. Then it can make an eCard link for you to share, or set up a printed card mailed to a US address. You pay at a secure Stripe checkout page.

Everything works by voice. You never need to look at a screen to finish an order.

This repository holds setup instructions only. The server is hosted by ModCard; there is nothing to install or run.

Connect

The first time your assistant connects, a browser window opens. Sign in to ModCard, or create an account with Google, Apple, or email, and approve access once.

Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the URL above.

Claude Code:

bash
claude mcp add --transport http modcard https://api.modcard.fun/api/mcp

ChatGPT: go to chatgpt.com/plugins, select + → Add custom MCP server, paste the URL, and choose OAuth.

VS Code: add config/vscode-mcp.json to .vscode/mcp.json:

json
{  "servers": {    "modcard": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.modcard.fun/api/mcp" }  }}

Cursor: add config/cursor-mcp.json to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "modcard": { "url": "https://api.modcard.fun/api/mcp" }  }}

Any other MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth works the same way: point it at the URL.

Try it

  • "Find a funny birthday card for my dad. He's turning 60 and loves fishing."
  • "Use that one. Write 'Happy 60th, Dad! Love, Sam' inside."
  • "Give me an eCard link I can text him."
  • "Mail a printed one to my aunt in Portland."
  • "Has my last order shipped?"

Safe by default

  • Your assistant sees only your own cards and orders.
  • It can't pay unless you turn that on in your ModCard profile, and then only with a credit card you saved, up to a per-order cap. Otherwise every order comes to you as a checkout link.
  • It never sees credit card numbers; Stripe handles them.
  • It can use your saved address without seeing it in full.
  • You can disconnect it at any time by removing the connector.

In Claude, a few things work differently: Claude can't make payments (you always get a checkout link), names are added to the song only from our recorded name library, and a different music style is available only when that version of the card already exists.
