Overview

AI-generated overview

Ava Advisor connects an AI assistant to structured market data for stock screening, news impact analysis, macro series and personal portfolio review.

What you can do
  • Screen stocks, dividends and options behaviour, and edit screener formulas across fundamentals, technicals and options
  • Read financial statements and price context for stocks, ETFs, FX, crypto and commodities
  • Search news, read market pulses and analyst briefs, and trace how news affected companies, themes and peers
  • Browse megatrend themes, macro series from FRED and the World Bank, trade flows and futures positioning
  • Read your own portfolios, playlists and notes, and create or change playlists and notes
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to answer plain-language investment research questions grounded in structured market data, such as screening stocks, explaining why a sector moved, or checking how your portfolio is exposed to the week's news.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package. An Ava Advisor account signed in through OAuth, or an API key sent as a Bearer token (the README's Cursor config reads it from the AVA_ADVISOR_API_KEY environment variable). Network access to the endpoint.
Before you install
Requires an account and either OAuth sign-in or an API key; keep the key in an environment variable or secret store and never commit it. Some tools change data in your account: creating playlists, adding or removing playlist items, and writing notes. The service reads your own portfolios, playlists and notes, and your prompts and account data go to a third-party provider. Output is described as AI analysis, not investment advice.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Ava Advisor in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/fund.ava%2Fava-advisor/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Ava Advisor MCP server

Your AI watches the markets so you can live your life.

Ava Advisor is a personal investment advisor for everybody. This MCP server connects your AI assistant (Claude, Cursor, or any client that supports remote MCP servers) to the same financial intelligence, so you can ask in plain words and get answers grounded in structured market data.

  • Screen stocks in plain words. "Biotech stocks with debt-to-equity below 3 that are turning profitable this year, showing a bullish divergence." Your AI turns that into one combined screen across fundamentals, technicals and options, and refines it as you talk.
  • Know why markets move. News is mapped to the stocks, themes and assets it actually affects, with the direction, the reason and the ripple to connected companies.
  • See the whole picture. A financial knowledge graph links themes, GICS sectors, peers, competitors and positioning.
  • Make it yours. Your AI can read your Ava Advisor portfolios, playlists and notes. Personalised alerts on what matters to you live in the Ava Advisor app at ava.fund.

Connect

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Ava Advisor and set the URL to https://mcp.ava.fund/mcp.
  3. Click Connect and sign in with your Ava Advisor account.

Claude Code

bash
claude mcp add --transport http ava-advisor https://mcp.ava.fund/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in. To use an API key instead, see configs/claude-code.sh.

Cursor

Add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project). See configs/cursor.json, which reads your key from the AVA_ADVISOR_API_KEY environment variable.

Other MCP clients

Add a remote MCP server with the URL https://mcp.ava.fund/mcp (streamable HTTP). Clients that support MCP OAuth find the sign-in automatically from https://mcp.ava.fund/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource. Otherwise, send Authorization: Bearer <your API key>.

API keys

Sign up at ava.fund/console/auth/signup, then create a key at ava.fund/console/api-keys. Keep your key in an environment variable or your client's secret store. Never commit it to a repository.

Example prompts

  • "Find biotech stocks with debt-to-equity below 3 that are turning profitable this year."
  • "Which semiconductor stocks moved most on news this week, and why?"
  • "What's the ripple effect of the latest copper news on miners and EV makers?"
  • "How is my portfolio exposed to this week's news?"
