Fincept financial data and analytics: markets, economics, research and terminal tools.
Overview
Fincept is a hosted MCP server giving assistants access to financial markets data, economic series, research, analytics and quant engines.
- What it does
- Fincept is a remote Model Context Protocol server for Fincept Terminal. It exposes a small core set of tools, with fincept_search_tools, fincept_describe_tool and fincept_call_tool reaching a catalog of 440 platform tools covering quotes, OHLCV candles, option chains, futures curves, fundamentals, funds, SEC filings, economic series, news and sentiment, crypto venues and DeFi, plus 15 quant engines for forecasting, volatility, regimes, allocation and pricing. Results are returned in a common structured format, and large results are stored for paged reading. Portfolios, ledgers and paper trading are included.
- When to use it
- Use it when an assistant needs market or economic data, filings, news and alternative data, or quantitative analysis such as backtests, screeners, option models and portfolio construction. It suits research and paper-trading workflows rather than live order execution.
- Requirements
- A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint at enterprise.fincept.in/mcp, reachable over the network. Authentication is OAuth 2.1 browser sign-in with a Fincept account; no API key is needed. An Exclusive Pro plan is required. The first call opens the provider's site in a browser to authorize the client.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Fincept in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config.

How it works
- Discovery: the server lists a small core set of tools.
fincept_search_tools,fincept_describe_toolandfincept_call_toolreach every other tool in the catalog. - Results: every tool returns the same structured result. Large results are stored and can be read page by page.
- Credits: tools use the same credits and quotas as the terminal.
- No real money: trading tools only reach the Fincept Paper account.
