Overview

AI-generated overview

Aperiodic Market Data gives an assistant a control plane over crypto and RWA perpetual market microstructure, liquidity, flow and raw datasets served as…

What you can do
  • Browse and describe the dataset catalog, including fields, intervals, exchanges and plan access
  • Find symbol ids on an exchange, including tokenized stocks and other RWA perpetuals
  • Get signed Parquet URLs, schema, row counts, column ranges and sample rows for a data slice
  • Compute server-side statistics, correlations or a resampled series when code cannot be run
  • Get connection details for the real-time WebSocket metrics feed
  • Search the catalog and read dataset, category or plans documents
When to use it
Useful when you need point-in-time crypto or tokenized-asset order-flow, book and derivatives data for research or backtesting, and want the assistant to locate the right dataset and hand your code a Parquet handle rather than pasting rows into chat.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local install. An optional X-API-KEY header (or OAuth sign-in) unlocks data beyond the free preview; without credentials only a small Binance BTC-USDT perpetual sample is available. The live WebSocket feed authenticates separately with an API key.
Before you install
Full datasets require a paid plan, and calls beyond the free preview without credentials return HTTP 401. Signed Parquet URLs expire after one hour. The live feed runs outside MCP and needs its own API key, separate from the MCP sign-in. Treat the API key as a secret and keep data loading in your own code.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Aperiodic Market Data in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.aperiodic%2Fmarket-data/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

list_datasets

List datasets

Every Aperiodic dataset, metrics and raw: id, category, the plan that unlocks it, a one-line description, field count, and whether this caller gets full access or the free preview. Start here.

Takes no parameters.

describe_dataset

Describe a dataset

Field definitions, intervals, exchanges with their start dates, the plan needed and the free preview window for one dataset.

Parametersdatasetrequired

find_symbols

Find symbols

Symbol ids on one exchange matching every word of the query, at most 50: crypto and RWA perpetuals alike. Ids look like "perpetual-BTC-USDT:USDT", "perpetual-TSLA-USDT:USDT" for a tokenized stock on Binance, or "perpetual-XYZ:TSLA-USDC:USDC" for a Hyperliquid HIP-3 market (dex before the colon). Matching is on the id, so search by ticker (e.g. "TSLA"), not by company name. The free preview symbol is perpetual-BTC-USDT:USDT on binance-futures.

get_data

Get a data handle

A handle to one slice of a dataset, not the data: signed Parquet URLs (valid one hour), schema, row counts, per-column min/max/nulls from the Parquet footers, 5 sample rows and a Polars snippet. Load the files in your own code; never paste them into the conversation. Without code, use summarize. Every argument but dataset defaults to the free preview, which needs no API key.

summarize

Summarize a slice

Statistics worked out on our side, for when you can't run code: per-column count, mean, std, quantiles and range ("stats"), a correlation matrix ("correlation"), or the series resampled to at most 500 points ("resample"). Same slice arguments and plan rules as get_data. Decodes only the columns you name (up to 12, numeric; default the first 6).

live_feed

Connect to the live feed

How your own code connects to the real-time WebSocket feed of metrics datasets (raw data is not streamed): its URL, the subscribe frame for a dataset, exchange, interval and symbols, your plan's limits and a Python client. Never the stream itself, which your code consumes outside MCP. The stream authenticates with an API key in X-API-KEY, not an MCP OAuth sign-in. With no dataset, lists what streams and which plans include it.

fetch

Fetch a catalog document

The full text of one search result: a dataset with all its fields, a category, or the plans guide.
