Overview

AI-generated overview

AppForShare lets an assistant upload iOS and Android test builds, fetch install links, check store readiness, and follow App Store and Google Play releases.

What you can do
  • Upload local .ipa, .apk or .aab builds with release notes and channel, returning an install link and readiness result
  • List and inspect builds with install links, filtered by platform, app, project or channel, including every readiness finding and its fix
  • List account projects and show the account, plan and role behind the token
  • Read App Store and Google Play release status and reviews
  • Promote a build to another channel or delete a build
When to use it
Useful when you distribute mobile test builds and want an assistant to upload them, hand out install links, explain store readiness problems, or summarize release status and reviews without switching to the dashboard.
Requirements
Either the hosted endpoint with OAuth sign-in or a bearer token, or the local npm package appforshare-mcp run with npx on Node 18 or newer. An AppForShare API token in APPFORSHARE_TOKEN is required, and the account must be on the Pro or Team plan.
Before you install
The token grants access to the AppForShare account; keep it out of shared configs. Promoting a build changes its channel and deleting a build removes it, both requiring the developer role and explicit confirmation. Uploads send build files and release notes to AppForShare.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open AppForShare in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.appforshare%2Fappforshare/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

[AppForShare]

MCP server for AppForShare. Lets Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Gemini CLI and other MCP clients upload iOS and Android builds, find install links, read the store readiness check and follow App Store and Google Play releases and reviews.

Needs an AppForShare API token (Pro and Team), from https://appforshare.io/dashboard/settings, and Node 18 or newer.

{  "mcpServers": {    "appforshare": {      "command": "npx",      "args": ["-y", "appforshare-mcp"],      "env": { "APPFORSHARE_TOKEN": "afs_your_token" }    }  }}

Claude Code:

sh
claude mcp add appforshare --env APPFORSHARE_TOKEN=afs_your_token -- npx -y appforshare-mcp

No local uploads needed? Use the hosted server instead: https://appforshare.io/api/mcp, with OAuth (Claude, ChatGPT and other clients that sign in) or the header Authorization: Bearer afs_your_token. Setup for each client: https://appforshare.io/docs/mcp

Agent skill

skills/appforshare is an agent skill (a folder with a SKILL.md) that tells Claude Code, Codex and other agents that load skills when to upload, which tools and CLI flags to use, how to read the store readiness result, and which actions need the person's confirmation. It points to the hosted OAuth server first and to npx appforshare as the fallback. Copy the folder to ~/.claude/skills/ (Claude Code, all projects), .claude/skills/ in a project, or ~/.agents/skills/ (Codex). Free to use; the tools it calls need Pro or Team.
