Requirements
Runs as a local stdio process installed from the npm package, so Node.js is needed. Requires IMAP_HOST, IMAP_USER and IMAP_PASS; sending mail additionally needs SMTP_HOST, with SMTP_USER and SMTP_PASS defaulting to the IMAP values. Desktop only.
Before you install
It stores mailbox credentials: IMAP_PASS and SMTP_PASS are account or app-specific passwords, so prefer app-specific passwords and limited scopes. The assistant can send and manage messages, which changes real mail; review actions before allowing them. Mail content is read from and sent through your provider's servers.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Mcp Server Imap in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
