Overview

AI-generated overview

Local stdio MCP server that lets an assistant search 249M+ companies and pull company profiles through the S.C.A.L.A. Score API.

What you can do
  • Search companies by name prefix or tax/VAT id, optionally filtered by country
  • Fetch a full company profile by id, including revenue type, revenue confidence and source
  • Check the remaining API credits for the configured key
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs company lookup, tax-id resolution or basic financial context about businesses, for example in research, sales or compliance-style checks. Each lookup consumes paid credits, so it suits occasional lookups rather than bulk enrichment.
Requirements
Runs as a local Node.js process over stdio; the README shows a manual setup with the MCP SDK and zod rather than a ready-made package entry point. Requires a SCORE_API_KEY environment variable, obtainable as a free key with 50 calls per month. Network access to the Score API is needed.
Before you install
Every search or profile call costs 1 credit, and paid credit packs are one-time purchases, so usage spends money. The API key is passed as an environment variable and should be kept private. Financial data is only returned for FR, NO, LT, EE, LV and CO, and redistributed data must keep the data_licences attribution.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Score Mcp Quickstart in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

Quickstart: company data for your AI agent in 5 minutes

  1. Get a free key (50 calls/month, no card): https://score.get-scala.com/api/free-key
  2. Try it:
bash
export SCORE_API_KEY=sk_score_...curl -H "X-API-Key: $SCORE_API_KEY" "https://score.get-scala.com/api/v1/search?tax_id=IT00159560366&limit=1"curl -H "X-API-Key: $SCORE_API_KEY" "https://score.get-scala.com/api/v1/usage"
  1. Know what you get: call /api/v1/company/{id} and read revenue_type (reported = filed accounts, estimated = model estimate) and revenue_confidence. Search results alone don't carry it.
  2. Give it to your agent (MCP, stdio):
bash
npm i @modelcontextprotocol/sdk zodSCORE_API_KEY=sk_score_... node mcp-score.mjs

Each call = 1 credit. Free key: 50/month. Paid packs: one-time credits (500 = €15, 2,000 = €39), no subscription. Redistribution: keep the data_licences attribution.

Data licences: responses include a data_licences block; keep the attribution when you redistribute data. Financials are returned only for FR, NO, LT, EE, LV, CO.
