Discover agent tools by problem: every listing carries its Test Bench verdict or says it has none.

Overview

AI-generated overview

Read-only catalog search over Eclipse Bazaar's tested MCP marketplace, letting an assistant find, compare and check certification of listed agent tools.

What you can do
  • Search the catalog by keyword or category, with match reasons on every hit
  • Match a plain-language problem to ranked products with a fit explanation
  • Read one product's full entry: capabilities, pricing model, platforms, tools and certification block
  • Compare several products side by side on status, pricing, certification and platforms
  • Look up the latest Test Bench verdict, certified scope and not-tested list, or an explicit not-yet-certified answer
  • List categories with product counts by status
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to recommend or vet MCP servers and other agent tools and wants problem-first discovery plus honest certification status, including what was not tested. Also handy for comparing candidate tools before installing them.
Requirements
Runs locally over stdio, either from the PyPI package with uvx or from the container image with Docker. No authentication or API keys. Reads a bundled catalog JSON, which can be overridden with the BAZAAR_CATALOG environment variable. Desktop only.
Before you install
The catalog covers only the vendor's own first-party listings, so absence of a product is not evidence it does not exist. Certification verdicts are the vendor's own Test Bench results, often at narrow or fixture scopes. The server has no purchasing tools, but the README describes paid items ordered through the vendor's site; nothing is bought through this server.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Eclipse Bazaar MCP in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

README

Eclipse Bazaar MCP

Powered by Cyan Eclipse Technologies — https://cetech.ai The agent-facing discovery layer for Eclipse Bazaar (eclipsebazaar.com) — CETech's tested MCP marketplace.

Why this exists

Agents shop by problem, not by product name. A registry listing tells an agent that a server exists; it does not say what problem the tool solves, whether anyone tested it, or what was not tested. Eclipse Bazaar's differentiator is exactly that honesty layer — every listing carries its Test Bench verdict, its certified scope, and its not-tested list, or states plainly that no verdict exists yet.

This MCP server is how agents query that catalog:

  • By problem — find_solutions matches a plain-language problem against problem statements + capabilities and explains the fit, with status and certification badges inline.
  • By keyword — search_products ranks across names, capabilities, and categories, and every hit carries match_reasons[]: the ranking is never a black box.
  • With receipts — get_certification returns the latest Test Bench verdict plus a live summary of the underlying scorecard (check counts, environment, date), the certified scope, and the not_tested list.
  • Honestly labelled — spec-stage products are status: spec and certified: false; products whose bench run is pending say "not yet certified"; The White Report MCP's verdict is CERTIFIED(live) — the 2026-10-25 live-host bench (card -11) superseded its earlier logic-level PARTIAL, and every surface is kept in sync from the newest scorecard by sync_verdicts.py.

ToolWhat it does
search_products(query, category?)Ranked keyword search; every hit carries match_reasons[].
find_solutions(problem)Problem-first matching with fit explanation + status/certification badges.
get_product(id)Full entry incl. certification block and what was NOT tested.
compare_products(ids[])Side-by-side: status, pricing model, certification, platforms.
get_certification(id)Latest bench verdict + scorecard summary + scope + not_tested; explicit "NOT YET CERTIFIED" when none exists.
list_categories()Categories with counts by status.

Every response includes a data_freshness note (catalog build date + source references). Scorecard summaries ship as a bundled snapshot in the installed package; in a source checkout they are read live from ../test-bench/results/ at call time.

Catalog (155 products — CETech first-party, catalog build 2026-10-27)

Seeded only from real sources — each product's bazaar-manifest.json, the latest Test Bench scorecard, the MCP product slate, and the Eclipse Mail spec. No invented products, no invented verdicts.

The bazaar CLI — including bazaar check

console
$ bazaar search "certificate renewal"$ bazaar product certbridge-mcp$ bazaar categories$ bazaar check # classify your configured MCP servers

bazaar check reads your MCP client configs, extracts each configured server's identity (package / image / URL / local path), and joins it locally against the published Bazaar corpus — downloaded whole and verified against its sha256 manifest first. Each entry is classified CERTIFIED (listed, Tier-2 verdict on record), LISTED (in the catalog, no verdict yet), NOT LISTED (no record — a neutral fact), or UNRESOLVABLE (no identity could be extracted, with the reason). Version pins that differ from the listed version are flagged as drift.

Privacy, by construction: config env values are never read, copied, hashed, logged, or transmitted — the parser redacts them structurally before anything else runs. There is no telemetry. The check never executes a configured server and never contacts one. (The CLI ships in the eclipse-bazaar PyPI distribution alongside the MCP server above.)

Run it

bash
python3 server.py # MCP over stdio, stdlib only, no dependenciespython3 smoke_test.py # protocol + routing + honesty assertions (9 checks)

Catalog lives in catalog.json beside the server (override with $BAZAAR_CATALOG).

Verdict sync (EB-09)

Bench verdicts have ONE source of truth: the newest scorecard per tool in ../test-bench/results/ (run-sequence suffix decides — a -11 card supersedes -2). python3 sync_verdicts.py rebuilds verdict-ledger.json and checks catalog.json, product bazaar-manifest.json files, this README's table, and the storefront bench lines against it (exit 1 on drift); --apply fixes the machine-safe fields. First-party logs annotate live state only — they never change a bench verdict. Run it after every bench run.

Scope

  • The marketplace: Eclipse Bazaar is CETech's marketplace for its own bench-verified MCP servers, connectors, and tools. This server is its agent-facing catalog face — search, comparison, and certification lookup across the live first-party catalog (157 listings). Every listing carries its Verity Test Bench verdict with its scope attached, or states plainly that no verdict exists yet.
  • Purchasing is live — bench-order/intake, not buy-now: priced items are purchasable today through the Bazaar's bench-order/intake path at eclipsebazaar.com (operator-confirmed ordering; there is no self-serve buy-now checkout). Live-priced today: the Test Bench service ($500 full certification bench / $150 scoped re-bench), Docket $5/filing, Redteam $2/run, Flood Witness $7.50/$12, Nexus $0.25/check, Toolprint $0.05/call, Permits $10, White Report metered reads $0.01/read. The hosted tier ($49/mo) opens enrollment at Gate B1.
  • Not yet open: third-party listings (the catalog is first-party CETech today) and badge licensing (terms in review). This MCP server itself has no purchasing tools — orders are placed through eclipsebazaar.com's intake, not through this server.
  • Roadmap: x402 pay-per-call for paid tools, and an Agent Wallet policy check before any charge — an agent's granted spending scope governs Bazaar purchases the same way it governs everything else.

search_products

Search Products

Keyword search over the Bazaar catalog (names, capabilities, categories, problem statements). Every hit carries match_reasons — why it matched is never hidden. Optional category filter. Use find_solutions instead when you have a problem to describe rather than keywords; use get_product once you have a product id.

Parametersqueryrequiredcategory

find_solutions

Find Solutions

Describe a problem in plain language; get ranked products with a fit explanation, status, and certification badge inline. Spec-stage products are labelled spec-stage, uncertified products say so. Use search_products instead when you already have keywords or a category in mind; use get_product once you have a product id.

Parametersproblemrequired

get_product

Get Product

Full catalog entry for one product id: capabilities, problem statements, pricing model, platforms, tools, and the certification block including what was NOT tested, plus the product's live_state_note and its explicit install_plan status (no install plan exists yet). Use get_certification instead when you only need the bench verdict, scope, and not_tested list for the same id.

Parametersidrequired

compare_products

Compare Products

Side-by-side comparison of 2+ product ids: status, pricing model, certification verdict and scope, platforms, categories. Use get_product instead when you need one product's full entry.

Parametersidsrequired

get_certification

Get Certification

The latest Test Bench verdict for a product, with a live scorecard summary, the certified scope, and the not_tested list. Returns an explicit NOT YET CERTIFIED answer when no verdict exists. Use get_product instead when you need the full catalog entry for the same id.

Parametersidrequired

list_categories

List Categories

All catalog categories with product counts broken down by status (live / first-party / in-development / spec), plus the product ids in each category. Start here to browse the catalog; use the returned ids with get_product or get_certification, and the category names as search_products' category filter.

Takes no parameters.
