Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Lium MCP server for live GPU rental prices, rentable nodes with rent links, pod management and Lium documentation search.

What you can do
  • Search and read Lium documentation pages, optionally filtered by audience
  • List rentable GPU nodes with live USD prices and rent links, and get per-model price ranges and free GPU counts
  • Estimate what a provider would earn per month from listing GPUs
  • Rent a GPU pod, list and inspect your pods, and request pod deletion
  • Check your Lium balance and list Docker templates for pods
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs current GPU pricing or availability on Lium, wants to compare GPU models, or should rent and manage GPU pods and check balance from a chat session.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint at docs.lium.io; no package install. Pod tools need a Lium account, a Lium API key and a funded balance. Documentation search and price tools need no credentials.
Before you install
rent_pod spends money from your Lium balance and bills per second until remove_pod, including while idle; remove_pod deletes the pod and its data. The API key grants access to your account and pods, so treat it as a secret.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Lium GPU Cloud: live GPU prices and rent links in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.Datura-ai%2Flium-gpu-cloud/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

lium-skill

The lium agent skill — teaches an AI coding agent to rent GPUs and manage pods on Lium, agent-first compute: a GPU rental platform.

Install

bash
npx skills add Datura-ai/lium-skill --skill lium

Works in any agent that supports the Agent Skills standard — Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and others.

In Claude Code, install it as a plugin, which also adds the Lium MCP server (https://docs.lium.io/mcp: live GPU prices, rent links, docs search):

/plugin marketplace add Datura-ai/lium-skill/plugin install lium@lium

Without node, install into the agent skill directories directly:

bash
curl -fsSL https://lium.io/agents/install.sh | bash

The installer writes SKILL.md and references/ into ~/.claude/skills/lium/, ~/.cursor/skills/lium/ and ~/.codex/skills/lium/; it takes --claude-only, --cursor-only, --codex-only, --force (overwrite without a backup) and -h. LIUM_SKILL_VERSION is the git ref the files are fetched from (default main); the repository has no tags yet, so pin a commit sha until one exists.

The skill drives the lium CLI, so install that too:

bash
curl -fsSL https://lium.io/install.sh | bashlium init

What is in here

PathPurpose
lium/SKILL.mdThe skill itself — frontmatter plus agent instructions
lium/references/CLI and SDK references, loaded on demand
agents/install.shSource of lium.io/agents/install.sh (lium.io redirects to the raw file on main)
.claude-plugin/Claude Code plugin and marketplace manifests: the lium skill plus the MCP server in .mcp.json
llms.txtShort discovery index for agents
llms-full.txtSelf-contained reference, generated from the files above
scripts/build-llms-full.shGenerates llms-full.txt (SKILL.md without frontmatter + both references)
examples/benchmarks/Reproducible GPU benchmarks run on Lium pods, with raw results (vLLM serving, 23 Sep 2026)
chrome-extension/"Lium GPU Prices" Chrome extension: popup with live GPU prices from lium.io/pricing.json; store copy in STORE_LISTING.md, test with node --test chrome-extension/prices.test.mjs
server.jsonMCP Registry entry io.github.Datura-ai/lium-gpu-cloud for the hosted MCP endpoint https://docs.lium.io/mcp (live GPU prices and rent links, docs search; replaces the old lium-docs name); a change on main publishes it (bump version)
.github/CODEOWNERS, .github/REVIEWING.mdWho reviews each path and how

lium.io/llms.txt and lium.io/llms-full.txt are served from this repo's main.

Editing

llms-full.txt is generated. After changing lium/SKILL.md or anything under lium/references/, regenerate and commit it in the same change — the check-drift job (.github/workflows/check-llms-full.yml) regenerates the file on every PR, push to main and merge-queue run and fails on any difference:

bash
./scripts/build-llms-full.sh

read_page

Read a Lium docs page

Return the raw Markdown source for a documentation page. Accepts a full URL, absolute slug (e.g. /providers/quickstart), or basename (e.g. quickstart). On tie among basenames, prefers pages in audience order: Providers > Validators > Renters > Developers.

Parametersurl_or_slugrequired

search_gpus

Find rentable Lium GPUs

List GPU nodes that can be rented on Lium right now, cheapest per GPU-hour first, with live USD prices and a rent link for each. Use when the user wants a specific machine (GPU model, count, country, price cap); use get_gpu_prices for a price overview. Each node has tier (secure or spot), reliability_score and min_gpus_per_rental (some nodes rent only whole). Read-only: next_step says how to rent one.

Parametersgpucountlimitcountrymax_price_per_gpu_hour

get_gpu_prices

Lium GPU prices

Live price range (min, median, max USD per GPU-hour) and free GPU count for each GPU model rentable on Lium right now. Use for "what does an H100 cost" or comparing models; use search_gpus to pick a node to rent. Pass count for multi-GPU quotes: a 1-GPU price can come from a node with one free GPU.

Parametersgpucountcountry

estimate_provider_earnings

Estimate Lium provider earnings

Estimate what a provider earns per month on Lium by listing GPUs of a model, as the rewards calculator does: rental income (95% of the renter price) and rented extra at the last 30 days' utilisation, plus idle pay at the validator's rate for every unrented hour; with what those GPUs actually earned and the middle-half range across providers. Use when someone asks what their GPUs could earn on Lium; for renting GPUs use search_gpus. An estimate, not a guarantee.

Parametersgpurequiredcount

rent_pod

Rent a Lium GPU pod

Rent a GPU pod on Lium with your API key and wait until it runs; returns the pod id and the ssh command. Spends money from your Lium balance: the pod is billed per second until remove_pod, also when idle. Give gpu (and count, optional max_price_per_gpu_hour and country) to let Lium pick the cheapest matching node, or node_id from search_gpus alone for that node. idempotency_key is required: if a call fails or times out, retry with the same key within 24 hours so it cannot rent twice.

list_pods

List my Lium pods

Your Lium pods with status, ssh command and price per hour.

Takes no parameters.

get_pod

Get a Lium pod

One pod: status, ssh command (once RUNNING), price per hour and spend so far.

Parameterspod_idrequired

remove_pod

Remove a Lium pod

Request pod deletion. Billing stops when accepted; deletion may finish asynchronously (get_pod shows DELETING). Data on the pod is lost.

Parameterspod_idrequired

get_balance

My Lium balance

Your Lium balance in USD.

Takes no parameters.

list_templates

List Lium templates

Docker templates a pod can start from (official ones, your own and other users' public ones; official and yours mark which), for rent_pod template_id.
