Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote Apify MCP server that lets an assistant capture any website or raw HTML as a PNG, JPEG, WebP, PDF or scrolling MP4/GIF and return a public file link.

What you can do
  • Capture pages as images, PDFs or scrolling videos, choosing full page, viewport, custom height, a CSS-selected element or a region
  • Render captures for desktop, laptop, tablet, phone or 200+ exact device models, with retina scaling and dark mode
  • Clean up captures by hiding or accepting/rejecting cookie banners, blocking ads, fixing sticky headers and loading lazy images
  • Reach logged-in or restricted pages using cookies, extra headers, HTTP basic auth, language, time zone, location and proxy
  • Return page text and meta description alongside the file, plus optional small JPEG thumbnails
When to use it
Useful when an assistant needs to see or show how a web page looks, produce print-ready PDFs of pages, record scrolling demos, or batch-capture many URLs such as competitor homepages for visual comparison.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint at mcp.apify.com with OAuth sign-in to Apify, or an Apify API token sent as an Authorization Bearer header for clients without OAuth. A local stdio option runs through npx with an APIFY_TOKEN environment variable. A free Apify account includes monthly credit.
Before you install
Captures are billed per successful capture (screenshot or PDF, and more for scrolling video); failed and skipped pages are free, and runs can stop at a maximum cost. Cookies, extra headers and basic-auth credentials supplied for logged-in pages are passed to Apify's Actor, and resulting files are stored as public links. Capturing third-party sites may be subject to their terms.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Website Screenshot & PDF in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.Devdeep-Borisagar%2Fwebsite-screenshot/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

README

Website Screenshot MCP: screenshots, PDFs and scrolling videos for AI agents

Give your AI agent eyes on the web. One tool that captures any website, or your own HTML, as a PNG, JPEG or WebP screenshot, a PDF, or a scrolling MP4/GIF video, and returns a public link to the file.

It runs as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP), so there's nothing to install or host. Under the hood it calls the Website Screenshot & PDF Actor on Apify.

What your agent can do with it

  • Full page or first screen: capture the whole page top to bottom, just the first screen, a custom height, one element (CSS selector) or an exact region.
  • Formats: PNG, JPEG, WebP, PDF (A4, Letter, Legal and more, or one long page) and scrolling MP4 or GIF.
  • Devices: desktop, laptop, MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Android, social card, or any of 200+ exact device models. Retina 2x/3x and dark mode.
  • Clean captures: cookie banners hidden or clicked (accept or reject), ads blocked, sticky headers fixed so they don't repeat, lazy images loaded, emoji and Asian scripts rendered.
  • Logged-in pages: cookies, extra headers, HTTP basic auth, language, time zone, location and proxy.
  • Page text for AI: get the page's visible text and meta description in the same call.
  • Fair billing: you pay only for captures that succeed. Failed pages are free.

Your client opens an Apify sign-in on first use (OAuth). If your client doesn't support OAuth, send your Apify API token as a header instead:

json
{  "mcpServers": {    "website-screenshot": {      "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=devdeep/website-screenshot-pdf",      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <APIFY_TOKEN>" }    }  }}

Get a token in Apify Console → Settings → API & Integrations. A free Apify account includes monthly credit.

Local (stdio), for clients without remote MCP support
