Overview

AI-generated overview

Connects an assistant to Sniptide, a self-hostable pastebin, so it can search and manage code snippets, configs and secrets.

What you can do
  • Search and manage snippets stored in a Sniptide instance
  • Work with multi-file pastes that can be password-protected, set to expire, or burn after reading
  • Organize reusable snippets into collections and sync .env files
  • Connect coding agents to the same paste store through the hosted endpoint or a self-hosted instance
When to use it
Useful when you keep reusable code snippets, configs or environment files in Sniptide and want a coding agent to look them up or manage them without copy-pasting. Also relevant for teams running their own Sniptide instance who want agent access to it.
Requirements
Either the hosted endpoint at app.sniptide.com or a self-hosted Sniptide instance (Docker with Postgres). Authentication is required: OAuth sign-in in the browser, or a personal API token created in Settings > API tokens, passed as the SNIPTIDE_TOKEN environment variable or an Authorization bearer header. SNIPTIDE_BASE_URL points at a custom instance URL.
Before you install
The store is designed for secrets and .env files, so the assistant may read or write sensitive values; treat the API token as a credential and scope access carefully. Pastes can be shared via links with passwords or burn-after-read, and content is sent to whichever Sniptide instance is configured, hosted or self-hosted. Actions that create, change or delete snippets affect shared data.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Sniptide in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
  3. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.Dino-Kupinic%2Fsniptide/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Other MCP clients

Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Sniptide

A self-hostable pastebin for code snippets, configs, and secrets. Share multi-file pastes with passwords, expiry, or burn-after-read links. Organize reusable snippets in collections, sync .env files, and connect coding agents through the CLI or MCP server.

Self-host

Run Sniptide and Postgres on your server with one command:

bash
curl -fsSL https://sniptide.com/install.sh | sh

The script asks for your domain, generates the secrets, starts Docker Compose with HTTPS, and closes sign-up once your account exists. To set it up by hand instead:

bash
git clone https://github.com/Dino-Kupinic/sniptide.gitcd sniptideprintf 'BETTER_AUTH_SECRET=%s\nBETTER_AUTH_URL=http://localhost:3000\n' "$(openssl rand -hex 32)" > .envdocker compose up -d

Open localhost:3000 and create an account. On a server, replace BETTER_AUTH_URL with SNIPTIDE_DOMAIN=<your-domain> and COMPOSE_PROFILES=proxy for HTTPS. See the self-hosting guide for HTTPS, configuration, backups, and upgrades.

The official Docker image supports AMD64 and ARM64 at ghcr.io/dino-kupinic/sniptide.

Connect a coding agent

Add the MCP server to Claude Code, which signs you in to Sniptide in the browser through OAuth:

bash
claude mcp add --transport http sniptide https://app.sniptide.com/api/mcp

Then start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose sniptide and pick Authenticate to open the browser.

For a client without OAuth, create a token in Settings > API tokens and pass it with --header "Authorization: Bearer $SNIPTIDE_TOKEN".

Use <your-instance-url>/api/mcp on a self-hosted instance. The MCP guide covers Cursor and a local server, and the CLI installs a collection as an agent skill. This repository is also an Agent Plugin: plugin.json bundles the MCP servers in mcp.json with the skills in skills/.

Documentation

The API reference is available at /docs/api on your instance.
