MEGA cloud storage CLI MCP server

Overview

AI-generated overview

MCP server that lets an assistant manage MEGA encrypted cloud storage through MEGAcmd: browse, upload, download, share and sync files.

What you can do
  • Check account info, storage usage and navigate remote folders
  • List, create, remove, move, copy, read and search files and folders
  • Upload and download files and monitor transfer progress
  • Create public links with optional expiry and password, share folders with other MEGA users, import public links
  • Set up bidirectional folder sync
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to work with files already stored in a MEGA account — organizing folders, moving files between local disk and the cloud, or producing share links — without switching to the MEGA client.
Requirements
Runs as a local stdio process started with Node.js from the npm package. MEGAcmd must be installed separately and the user must be logged in to a MEGA account beforehand. No API keys or environment variables are declared.
Before you install
Tools can delete, move, overwrite and upload files, and can create public links or share folders with other users, so changes affect real cloud data. Sharing and link creation expose files outside the account. Login credentials are handled by MEGAcmd, not by this server.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Mega in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.

Other MCP clients

Follow the launch instructions in the repository.

Score

50% of the applicable checks met

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.

  • Reached in the last 30 days25 pts

Keep the endpoint answering the MCP handshake; SourceWeft probes it every 30 days.

  • Auth declared10 pts

Declare the credential headers in the registry entry, or keep the endpoint answering the probe so its auth can be classified.
