Cofounder

Company context and tools for research, CRM, email, social publishing, and roadmaps.
Overview
Remote Cofounder MCP server giving an assistant shared company context plus tools for research, CRM, email, social publishing and roadmaps.
- What you can do
- Work with shared company knowledge and choose or create a company
- Plan and follow a roadmap, including the next milestone
- Research topics and manage customer relationships in a CRM
- Handle email and publish to social channels
- Create brand assets and work with infrastructure
- When to use it
- Useful when you want an assistant to act as a company cofounder across tasks: keeping one company context while doing research, CRM follow-ups, email, social posts and roadmap planning. Best for small teams or founders who want these workflows in one connected workspace.
- Requirements
- A remote Streamable HTTP endpoint with OAuth sign-in to a Cofounder account; no API key is bundled. Installation differs by client: ChatGPT and Codex use a plugin marketplace (workspace import needs an admin and the ChatGPT desktop app), Claude app and Cowork add the marketplace from the repository, and other MCP clients add the endpoint directly. Network access required.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Cofounder in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Connect the required credentials. They are stored privately and never shown on public pages.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.General-Intelligence-Company%2Fcofounder-plugin/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.Other MCP clients
Add this to your client's mcpServers config. The client completes OAuth sign-in on first connect.

Cofounder Plugin
Build and run your company from your agent. Cofounder gives it shared company knowledge, a roadmap, and tools for research, customer relationships, email, social publishing, brand creation, and infrastructure.
Start with setup, then keep working with the same company context across tasks. Explore the tools.
Install
Follow the steps for your app, then sign in to Cofounder.
ChatGPT and Codex
- Open Plugins and search for Cofounder.
- Choose Install or the plus button, then sign in when prompted.
- Start a new chat to use the plugin.
Not listed? In Codex, add the marketplace below. In a ChatGPT workspace, ask an admin to import it. This import requires the ChatGPT desktop app to install and use the plugin.
Using a personal ChatGPT account? The workspace import steps below don't apply. If Cofounder isn't in your Plugins directory, contact support for help.
Add the marketplace to ChatGPT
A workspace admin completes these steps:
- Open Admin > Plugins > Add > Import marketplace.
- Set Source to
https://github.com/General-Intelligence-Company/cofounder-plugin. - Leave Path and Branch, tag, or commit empty, then select Import marketplace and connect GitHub when prompted.
- Make Cofounder available to workspace members. They can then install it from Plugins in the ChatGPT desktop app and sign in.
Add the marketplace to local Codex
- Open Plugins > Add > Add a marketplace.
- Set Source to
General-Intelligence-Company/cofounder-plugin. - Leave Git ref and Sparse paths empty, then select Add marketplace.
- Open Cofounder, choose Install, and sign in when prompted. Start a new local chat to use it.
You can also use the CLI commands below. These configure local Codex; they don't import the plugin into a ChatGPT workspace.
Claude desktop app and Cowork
- Open Customize > Plugins. For Cowork, open the Cowork tab first.
- Choose Add > Add marketplace > Add from a repository.
- Enter
https://github.com/General-Intelligence-Company/cofounder-pluginand select Sync. - Open Cofounder and choose Add or Install.
- Open its Connectors tab, connect Cofounder, and sign in. Start a new conversation or Cowork task.
Claude's installation guide. For Claude Code, use the CLI commands below. Installing through the CLI doesn't add the plugin to your Claude app account.
Cursor
Team marketplace admins can import this repository through Dashboard > Plugins & MCPs, then make Cofounder available to their team. Install Cofounder from that marketplace and connect its MCP server to sign in.
The repository includes a Cursor marketplace and plugin manifest, as well as the portable Agent Plugins format. Public marketplace availability requires a separate submission and review.
Grokbot
Grokbot can use the same plugin after it is available in its plugin catalog. Until then, ask your Bot:
Add the Cofounder MCP server at https://api.cofounder.co/mcp, then help me get started with Cofounder.
Complete the native connection and sign-in prompts, then send another message if the new tools are not available yet. No API key is bundled with the plugin.
Other MCP clients
Add https://api.cofounder.co/mcp as a remote Streamable HTTP server with
OAuth authentication, then sign in to Cofounder. Ask your agent:
“Help me get started with Cofounder.”
Agent installation guide · Official MCP Registry listing.
Optional: ask your agent to help with installation
Your agent may guide you through the steps rather than install it directly.
Get started
Once connected, ask:
Help me get started with Cofounder.
Your agent will help you choose or create a company and find the next step. Then try: “Show me our roadmap and help me with the next milestone.”

Troubleshooting
- Tools aren't available? Finish signing in, then start a new chat. In
Codex, open Plugins > Cofounder > Authenticate. In Claude Code, use
/mcp; in the Claude app, open the plugin's Connectors tab. - ChatGPT says “Desktop only”? Open the ChatGPT desktop app to install and use this imported plugin.
- Codex asks for a cloud environment? Start a local chat; cloud environments don't carry your local plugin sign-in.
- Windows install error (
SEC_E_NO_CREDENTIALS, “access denied,” or missing home directory)? Use the Plugins UI or run the CLI commands in your own PowerShell window.
Keep the plugin updated
- ChatGPT workspace: an admin opens Admin > Plugins > Marketplaces, selects Cofounder, and chooses Sync now.
- Codex: choose Upgrade marketplace for Cofounder in plugin settings.
- Claude app and Cowork: choose Check for updates on the marketplace.
Start a new chat or task after updating.
Command-line installation
Install from the command line (for agents)
Run these in your terminal. On Windows, use your own PowerShell window if an agent's sandbox blocks installation. Update the client if a command is missing.
Codex
If sign-in didn't finish, run codex mcp list, then codex mcp login with the
Cofounder server name it shows. Start a new chat afterward.
Claude Code
Run /mcp in Claude Code to sign in, then start a new session.
